\n POSITION SUMMARY \n Join one of Scotland’s leading construction and manufacturing businesses and play a key role in delivering affordable housing and private residential developments across the country. With a strong pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Pre-Construction team at our Cambuslang head office. \n \n ABOUT CCG \n Established in 1974, CCG has grown from a small heating and plumbing contractor into a full-service construction and manufacturing group of eight subsidiary companies. Turnover in the last financial year was over £200 million, with the majority derived from new housebuilding delivered by a directly employed workforce of 645 people. \n \n CCG is operational across every sector of the industry offering full construction capability, complimented by the Off-Site manufacturing of timber systems. Extensive research is employed across each sector, particularly in the applied use of Modern Methods of Construction, ensuring that our clients benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, both in our product and people \n \n The Role \n Working within our Pre-Construction team, you will be responsible for the cost planning of projects during the pre-construction period, drawing on information from our supply chain, our in-house divisions and external consultants. \n \n \n • Preparation of costs plans, including measurement and quantification.\n, • Obtain budget cost information from key subcontractors.\n, • Work collaboratively with internal departments to develop accurate cost plans.\n, • Coordinate with external consultants to inform and develop cost plans.\n, • Management and recording of all third-party pre-construction costs.\n, • Preparing and issuing consultant designer appointments.\n, • Preparing and issuing pre-construction valuations to clients.\n, • Contribute to value engineering exercises and buildability reviews with design, technical and site teams to deliver best value for the client.\n, • Maintain and develop cost database.\n \n \n Skills \n \n • A degree in Quantity Surveying.\n, • Approximately 3 to 5 year’s post-qualification experience with a main contractor, developer or consultancy.\n, • Demonstrable measurement, quantification and cost panning ability; pre-construction experience is a distinct advantage.\n, • Sound knowledge of construction methods and standard forms of contract.\n, • Confident use of Microsoft Excel and measurement software; the ability to take off from digital drawings.\n, • Strong commercial judgement, numeracy and attention to detail, with the discipline to work to programme deadlines.\n, • Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to deal directly with clients, consultants and the supply chain.\n, • Full Driving Licence \n, • Investment in training and personal development\n \n
