What Will You Do as a Teaching Assistant? As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to create a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities may include: Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons. Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils. Helping pupils understand classroom activities and learning tasks. Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs. Encouraging pupils to become confident, independent and engaged learners. Supporting positive behaviour and classroom management. Helping pupils with their academic, social and emotional development. Building positive professional relationships with pupils and staff. Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and organisation. Following safeguarding procedures and school policies. Some of our partner schools require Teaching Assistants to provide additional support to pupils with needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and communication needs. Previous SEND experience is valuable, but it is not essential for every opportunity. Who Are We Looking For? Are willing to learn and develop their skills. Are comfortable working as part of a wider school team. Have a positive approach to supporting pupils with different abilities and needs. Understand the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries. Previous experience working with children is desirable but not always essential. Relevant experience could come from schools, nurseries, tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, SEND support, volunteering or other child-focused environments.
