Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative Physiotherapist that enjoys problem solving.We need an experienced therapist to join our Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) & SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) therapy team as a Team Lead. We have a rare opportunity for you to develop both yourself and a service as the only true MAU service within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS foundation trust.For this role we need you to be able to assess and problem solve often complex discharges for a wide range of patients with differing presentations. Your input not only benefits the patient you are seeing but supports the flow of the whole of Heartland Hospitals patient flow and therefore supporting other patients and their community.Our team has only been running for 2 years and therefore you will get the opportunity to develop the staff already in the team, new and rotational staff, but also establish service improvement projects to maximise the potential of the service provided and its effect.You will work within an experienced therapy team supporting the wider Multidisciplinary team. You will need to use skills from a variety of specialities including, respiratory, Neuro and Trauma & orthopaedics.You will need to complete complex assessments on patients presenting with a variety of conditions and co morbidities to establish safe and timely discharge plans.
