Manpower Recruitment are working with an established Restaurant in the Bicester area, Oxfordshire and are looking for an Commis Chef or Chef De Partie \n \n This role is a full time role, working 5/7 days, including weekends and evenings, so flexibility is needed. \n \n The role is paying £26000-£34000pa, depending on experience. (Plus Tips) \n \n *Please note that a driving licence would be needed, due to remote location \n \n Job Overview \n \n The Chef is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistency, whilst contributing to the overall success of the kitchen operation. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n \n\n • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards.\n, • Take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry), ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality.\n, • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety within your section.\n, • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu preparation, development, and daily kitchen operations.\n, • Monitor portion control and minimise food waste to support cost management.\n, • Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.\n, • Support stock control, including ordering, rotation, and inventory checks.\n, • Work efficiently during busy service periods, maintaining attention to detail under pressure.\n, • Step up to support other sections or senior chefs when required.\n\n \n Key Skills and Experience \n \n\n • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.\n, • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up.\n, • Ability to manage a section independently during service.\n, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.\n, • Good communication and teamwork skills.\n, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.\n, • Passion for food, quality, and continuous improvement.\n\n \n Qualifications (Desirable) \n \n\n • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).\n, • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).\n, • Allergen awareness training.\n\n \n What We Offer \n \n\n • Training and development opportunities.\n, • Opportunities for career progression within the business.\n, • Supportive kitchen environment focused on quality and teamwork.\n\n \n If interested, please get in contact with a Manpower Representative.
