Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Office-based Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum (depending on experience) The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial roofing contractor. This is a newly created role offering the chance to help establish and develop a new commercial department while working closely with senior management. This position would suit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with extensive roofing experience who is looking to play a key role in the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and produce monthly cost reports., • Procure and commercially manage subcontract accounts from tender stage through to final account., • Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts., • Identify, negotiate and agree contract variations with subcontractors and main contractors., • Identify project cost risks at an early stage and implement effective mitigation strategies., • Carry out value engineering exercises to maximise project profitability., • Assist clients in defining project requirements and undertaking feasibility studies., • Monitor and maintain positive contract cash flow., • Prepare turnover and profit forecasts., • Support the estimating and procurement teams where required., • Resolve contractual and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle., • Manage multiple projects independently while maintaining commercial control. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will possess: • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying., • Minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within the roofing sector., • Strong understanding of construction contracts and contract law., • Knowledge of insurance and commercial risk management., • Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception through to final account., • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills., • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills., • Experience using Apple Mac systems is advantageous but not essential., • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills., • Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working independently., • Ambition to contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.
