About the Role: \n The incubement of the position delivers a responsive and efficient technical service supporting customer orders for electric chain hoists, associated products, components, and spare parts. This includes addressing internal technical enquiries, assisting with fault diagnosis and warranty-related issues, as well as supporting colleagues to resolve common after‑sales concerns. The role also supports the wider team by contributing to general warehouse operations when needed. \n \n Responsibilities: \n\n • Perform all assembly, configuration, testing and repair processes to a range of electric chain hoists using instructions/wiring diagrams/drawings.\n, • Perform final inspection of products prior to despatch ensuring product checklist is complete and signed off before testing finished product.\n, • Fit handles, hooks, chain bags, pendants etc to hoists as required.\n, • Support internal colleagues with their enquiries related to electric chain hoist products including specification, use, integration into applications/use, damage, fault, warranty.\n, • Support team through troubleshooting and working to resolve problems associated with quality, safety and efficiency of products, of productivity and quality of work within work area.\n, • Maintain and enhance skills and knowledge across the product range through internal/external training.\n, • Develop standard operating procedures and ensure consistent adherence to them within the assembly bay.\n, • Train and become a fire warden/member of the fire team.\n, • Maintain a clean and tidy 5S workshop at all times and engage in EHS/5S/Lean/Cleaning tasks and projects from time to time.\n, • Support the team during annual/ad hoc cycle counts, stock takes and changes to manufacturing lay-out, storage locations, etc.\n, • Adherence to all legal and Company H & S and quality policy/procedures.\n, • Other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the scope of the role.\n\n \n Qualifications: \n\n • Time served (preferred but not essential) electrical and/or mechanical fitter.\n, • HNC qualifications or a certified trade apprenticeship.\n, • Achieved a minimum grade 5/C or higher in both Maths and English at GCSE.\n, • Relevant NVQ or EAL safety/competency certifications.\n, • LOLER competent person (desirable).\n\n \n Required Skills: \n\n • Extensive experience in panel and machine wiring, with the ability to work confidently from electrical drawings.\n, • Experience with fault finding and repairs of electro-mechanical equipment.\n, • Demonstrable H & S, technical and regulatory knowledge.\n, • Has a good technical aptitude and a desire to enforce the highest standards of H & S, quality and customer support.\n, • Knowledge of lifting equipment preferable.\n, • Effective approach to workload and task prioritisation.\n, • Strong technical trouble-shooter and problem-solver.\n, • Has a positive attitude, is an effective communicator and displays an enthusiasm for collaboration and team work.\n, • Driven to maintain a well organized, work area.\n, • Is able to undertake light, medium and heavy lifting (Daily manual handling of boxed products ranging from 5kg – 18kg MAX. with aids available).\n, • Physical role involving lifting, stretching, bending & pushing tasks.\n, • Role is 85% tool-based/physical and 15% customer/internal colleague support/assistance and use of P.C. and software +/-.\n
