The successful candidate will be involved in transforming machined and fabricated components through a range of polishing, finishing and preparation processes, working to exceptionally high standards.The role would suit someone with previous metal polishing, fettling, linishing or finishing experience who takes genuine pride in their workmanship and has a strong eye for detail.The RoleCarrying out metal polishing and finishing to a consistently high standardProducing bright and mirror finishes on a variety of metal componentsUsing polishing motors, mops, compounds and associated finishing equipmentUsing orbital sanders, diamond cutters and other hand-held equipment where requiredGrinding, fettling and linishing componentsPreparing components for subsequent finishing and plating processesWorking from instructions and specifications to achieve the required finishInspecting your own work to ensure quality standards are maintainedWorking both independently and as part of an experienced teamMaintaining a clean, safe and organised working environmentFollowing all relevant Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of workWorking to production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanshipBeing willing to learn and develop your skills across a range of specialist finishing processesAbout YouPrevious experience in metal polishing, metal finishing, fettling, linishing or a similar environment is highly desirableIdeally a minimum of 2 years' experience in a metal polishing or finishing positionGood practical skills and a hands-on approachExcellent attention to detailPride in producing high-quality workmanshipPatient and persistent, with an understanding that quality finishing takes time and careAble to work under pressure in a busy production environmentComfortable working independently and as part of a teamReliable and punctualEnthusiastic and keen to learn new skillsApproachable and receptive to instructionGood general manners and a professional attitudePhysically comfortable working on your feet for extended periodsHours & Package- Permanent position following a successful probationary period- 39.5 hours per week- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Friday: 7:30am - 1:00pm- 30-minute lunch break Monday to Thursday- Overtime available Monday to Friday at Time & Half, subject to business demand and successful completion of probation- Salary dependent on experience and skill level- 20 days' holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays- Company pension- Private healthcare- Casual dress- Free on-site parkingThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist business where quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail are genuinely valued, with full training and development available to help the successful candidate build their skills within a highly specialised finishing environment.To apply, please contact Contek Recruitment Solutions today.TPBN1_UKTJ
