Paralegal (Construction) £35,000 - £45,000 Watford (hybrid working) Permanent, Full Time Sellick Partnership is exclusively partnered with an international, tier 1 construction and infrastructure business to recruit a Construction Paralegal. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal looking to build a long-term career within an in-house legal function, joining an established legal team supporting a broad portfolio of high-profile construction and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will gain hands-on exposure to construction contracts and commercial matters while developing legal and commercial knowledge within a market-leading organisation. Paralegal – Role Overview Working closely with the wider legal team, the Paralegal will provide day-to-day legal and contractual support across a variety of construction and infrastructure projects. The role will involve supporting the review, drafting and administration of construction contracts and related documentation, assisting with contract management and supporting throughout the project lifecycle. As your experience develops, you will be given the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, become increasingly involved in projects and develop your own areas of expertise. This is predominantly a non-contentious construction role, offering an excellent opportunity to establish/further develop a career in construction and infrastructure law. Paralegal Key Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day legal and contractual support to the legal, commercial and operational teams., • Assist with the review, drafting and negotiating of construction and commercial contracts., • Support the legal team with key project documentation, including framework arrangements, collateral warranties, novation agreements, bonds and parent company guarantees., • Assist with reviewing and maintaining contract templates, standard documentation and legal playbooks., • Support the legal team in identifying contractual and commercial risks across projects., • Assist with contract administration and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations and requirements., • Carry out legal research and provide support on a range of construction and commercial matters., • Assist with the preparation of legal and contractual materials for projects and internal stakeholders., • Work closely with project and commercial teams to understand how contracts operate through the project lifecycle., • Develop your knowledge of construction contracts, commercial risk and the wider legal requirements of major infrastructure projects. Paralegal Requirements • Experience working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, ideally within a construction, infrastructure, engineering or relevant legal environment., • Experience working with or supporting construction contracts is highly advantageous, • Exposure to industry-standard construction contracts, particularly JCT, NEC and/or FIDIC, would be beneficial., • Understanding of ancillary construction documentation, such as collateral warranties, bonds and parent company guarantees, is desirable., • Good contract drafting document review skills., • A genuine interest in developing a career within construction and infrastructure law., • Ambition to develop technically and professionally within an established in-house legal team.
