Working on behalf of a leading FMCG manufacturer, this is an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Mechanical Engineer to step into a Lead Reliability Engineer position, having had previous multi-year experience within a manufacturing or plant maintenance environment. \n\n • Competitive salary + annual shift allowance\n, • Genuine career growth and opportunity\n, • Shift-based role with rotation every 2 weeks\n \n, • Day Shift: 06:00 - 14:00\n, • Evening Shift: 14:00 - 22:00\n \n\n Please note; due to the shifts and location of our client, you must be a driver and not rely on public transport. \n What You'll Be Doing - Electrical Mechanical Engineer \n In this role, you won't just maintain equipment - you'll help drive reliability across the site. You'll be the go-to mechanical engineering lead on shift, supporting both your team and production to keep everything running safely and efficiently. \n You'll be: \n\n • Taking ownership of CMMS work orders and keeping mechanical maintenance activity up to date\n, • Leading and supporting PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and production equipment\n, • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to reduce downtime, with support on electrical issues where needed\n, • Planning and organising maintenance activity to improve line performance and availability\n, • Working closely with production teams to hit performance targets\n, • Supporting shutdowns, overhauls and planned mechanical maintenance activities\n, • Coordinating contractors and making sure work is done safely and correctly\n, • Driving continuous improvement ideas that make the site better every day\n, • Supporting and developing shift engineers through coaching and training\n, • Making sure safety, GMP and food safety standards are always met\n, • Keeping tools, equipment and critical plant in top condition\n\n What You'll Need to Bring \n We're looking for someone practical, organised and confident in a manufacturing environment. \n\n • Strong mechanical fault-finding ability, ideally with some electrical exposure\n, • Multi-year experience in a production or manufacturing engineering environment\n, • Hands-on plant maintenance background (not just theory)\n, • Well organised, with the ability to plan maintenance work effectively\n, • Confidence supervising engineers or contractors on shift\n, • Good understanding of health & safety standards (IOSH desirable)\n, • Comfortable using CMMS systems and basic IT tools\n, • Strong communication and team working skills\n, • A proactive, "fix it properly" mindset\n\n Qualifications Required for Senior Mechanical Engineer \n\n • Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent)\n, • Multi-year hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of production equipment\n, • Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge desirable (18th Edition or equivalent a bonus, not essential)\n, • FLT licence (nice to have, not essential)\n\n Why This Role? \n\n • Work for a leading FMCG organisation\n, • Step into a leadership role while staying hands-on\n, • Influence how reliability and maintenance are delivered on site\n, • Work in a fast-paced, modern manufacturing environment\n, • Be part of a team that values safety, quality and improvement\n, • Develop your skills with ongoing training and career progression\n\n Interested? \n If you're an experienced mechanical engineer ready to take the next step into a leadership role, we'd love to hear from you.
