    GARDENER – PETER MICHELLE GARDENING Peter Michelle Gardening is a family-run business providing premium gardening and grounds maintenance services to residential clients across Wimbledon and Southwest London. We pride ourselves on delivering a reliable, professional and friendly service, with exceptional attention to detail. Our clients trust us to care for some of the area's finest gardens, and we're looking for a reliable Gardener who shares those high standards. Gardener – The Role This is a temporary two-week position to provide holiday cover. Previous professional gardening experience is essential for this role. As a Gardener, you will be responsible for completing the gardening work assigned to you to a consistently high standard. You will be provided with a daily schedule of client visits and the work required at each property. You will work alongside an Assistant Gardener to complete the scheduled work efficiently, safely and to the standard expected by Peter Michelle Gardening. The role requires someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively and take pride in the quality of their work. Typical duties include: · Completing scheduled garden maintenance visits · Liaising with customers in a friendly, professional and courteous manner · Weeding and border maintenance · Lawn mowing and lawn care · Hedge cutting and maintenance · Pruning and shaping shrubs and plants · Planting and general horticultural work · Using gardening machinery safely and effectively to complete a range of gardening tasks · Raking, leaf clearance and seasonal garden tidy-ups · Loading and unloading tools and materials · Collecting, bagging and transporting green waste · Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition · Driving the company van legally and responsibly, in accordance with UK road traffic laws and company vehicle policies · Taking responsibility for the day-to-day care and cleanliness of the company van and equipment, including keeping them adequately fuelled, checking for basic maintenance requirements and reporting any faults or damage promptly · Working alongside an Assistant Gardener to complete the day's scheduled work · Following all company health and safety procedures and working safely at all times · Carrying out tasks with due care and attention, including the safe use of gardening tools and equipment · Identifying and reporting potential hazards, damaged equipment or unsafe working conditions · Taking responsibility for the health and safety of themselves, their Assistant Gardener and others while working on site · Ensuring gardens are left clean, tidy and to the required standard Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: · Reliable and punctual · Conscientious and takes pride in their work · Hardworking and has a strong work ethic · Able to work independently and manage their time effectively · Organised and able to follow a schedule · Has excellent attention to detail · Professional, courteous and well-presented when working at customers’ properties · Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions · Physically fit and able to undertake manual work throughout the working day · Able to work well with an Assistant Gardener · A strong commitment to health and safety, with the ability to recognise hazards, follow safe working practices and never compromise safety to get a job completed more quickly · Honest, trustworthy and responsible Gardener - Essential Requirements · Full, clean UK driving licence · Previous professional gardening experience · Good practical gardening knowledge and experience · Willing to provide a Basic DBS check · Right to work in the UK · Fluent in English Future opportunities may become available as Peter Michelle Gardening expands in 2027. Working Hours Monday to Friday, with an expected start time of 8:30am at our West Wimbledon meeting point. Typical working days will finish between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, depending on the schedule.
