Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader – Van Provided\n Location: East London & Essex \n Base: Bow, with travel across the area \n Pay: £18.22 PAYE / £23.72 Umbrella per hour \n Hours: 40 hours per week \n Working Pattern: Monday to Friday \n Contract: Initial 12-week contract \n Start Date: 31 August 2026 \n IR35: Inside IR35 \n Vehicle: Company van provided \n Opportunity: Potential extension or permanent opportunity Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader\n VNA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader to join a busy repairs and maintenance team within a large housing organisation operating across East London and Essex. \n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in plumbing, reactive repairs and residential property maintenance who is looking for consistent full-time work. \n You will be primarily responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs across occupied residential properties, alongside general multi-trade maintenance where required. \n The role is based from Bow, with travel between properties across East London and Essex. A company van will be provided for work purposes. \n There is also potential for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent. The Role\n As a Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader, your responsibilities will include: \n\n • Carrying out reactive plumbing repairs across residential properties\n, • Diagnosing plumbing faults and identifying appropriate repairs\n, • Completing day-to-day repairs and maintenance efficiently\n, • Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings\n, • Carrying out general multi-trade maintenance where required\n, • Attending occupied residential properties across East London and Essex\n, • Working to achieve a high standard of first-time fix\n, • Managing appointments and completing jobs within agreed timescales\n, • Identifying additional maintenance issues during property visits\n, • Working independently across multiple locations\n, • Liaising with the wider repairs and maintenance team\n, • Keeping residents informed about works being carried out\n, • Maintaining high standards of workmanship\n, • Ensuring properties and work areas are left clean and tidy\n, • Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures\n, • Providing a professional, respectful and customer-focused service to residents\nAbout You\n To be considered for this position, you should have: \n\n • Proven experience working as a Plumber\n, • Strong experience carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance\n, • Good plumbing fault-finding and diagnostic skills\n, • Experience completing repairs within occupied properties\n, • Ability to carry out general multi-trade maintenance where required\n, • Strong practical problem-solving skills\n, • Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload\n, • Good organisation and time-management skills\n, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills\n, • Excellent customer service skills\n, • Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship\n, • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced repairs environment\n, • A positive and team-focused attitude\nDesirable Experience\n The following would be particularly beneficial: \n\n • Previous social housing experience\n, • Local authority or housing association repairs experience\n, • Residential property maintenance experience\n, • Experience working as a Multi Trader / Multi Trade Operative\n, • Experience completing repairs within occupied and void properties\nDriving Requirements\n A full UK driving licence is essential for this position. \n Applicants must also have: \n\n • No more than 6 points on their driving licence\n, • At least 2 years' driving experience\n, • No serious motoring offences within the last 10 years\n\n A driving licence check will be required before starting. \n A company van is provided for the role.
