Head of Commercial - Property (Insolvency & Valuation) Nottingham (Hybrid Work Arrangements) Salary £60,000- £65,000 plus benefits and bonus \n About the Role An established UK-wide property business is seeking a Head of Commercial to lead its property function. The team operates nationally from its Nottingham headquarters, delivering a broad range of services to owners, agents, and stakeholders. \n This is a key leadership role focused on insolvency-led valuations and disposals, with exposure to a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial property, land and luxury property. \n The Function The property team is led by Chartered Surveyors and offers expertise across: \n\n • Appraisals & Valuations (leases and property)\n, • Auctions\n, • Private Treaty disposals\n, • Property Management\n, • Maintenance and Security\n, • Probate Services\n, • Commercial & Residential Property Clearances\n\n Clients include solicitors, LPA receivers, landlords, and private individuals, with a strong emphasis on professional and discreet service delivery. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Undertake and oversee valuations across:\n, • Commercial property (office, industrial, retail)\n, • Residential assets and portfolios\n, • Development land and strategic sites\n, • Leasehold interests (occasional)\n, • Provide pragmatic valuation advice in insolvency and distressed scenarios\n, • Deliver defensible pricing to support disposal strategies\n, • Work in a commercially focused environment (limited formal Red Book reporting)\n, • Lead asset disposals via:\n\n -Auctions \n -Private treaty sales \n\n • Maximise returns through strategic positioning and pricing\n, • Navigate distressed markets with confidence\n\n Leadership & Team Management \n\n • Manage and mentor a team of 3 surveyors within a small office environment\n, • Oversee processes, quality, and delivery standards\n, • Provide technical leadership and support development of junior staff\n, • Act as the senior lead within the Nottingham office\n\n Business Development \n\n • Support growth of the commercial property offering\n, • Build and maintain relationships within the insolvency and restructuring sector\n, • Identify and convert new opportunities\n, • Contribute to broader business growth initiatives alongside leadership\n\n Qualifications \n\n • MRICS (Chartered Surveyor) - essential\n, • RICS Registered Valuer - preferred\n\n Skills & Attributes \n\n • Commercially astute with a pragmatic, solutions-led approach\n, • Experience in auction and private treaty disposals\n, • Proven leadership experience managing small teams\n, • Able to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment\n, • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills\n\n Why Join \n\n • Opportunity to step into a 'Head of' function with immediate impact\n, • Work across a varied and interesting insolvency-led asset base\n, • Autonomy to shape and grow the commercial offering\n, • Collaborative and experienced team environment\n\n How to Apply To apply or find out more, please contact Amelia Messenger amelia@beachbaker.co.uk 07586 673981 Desired Skills and Experience Experience in auction and private treaty disposals\n \nValuations Experience \n \nProperty background
