Technical Designer – Retail Design & Build \n \n Near Brighton | 5 days a week onsite please \n \n I’m working with this agency — an award-winning design and manufacture business specialising in high-impact retail displays — as they continue to grow their team. \n Based near Brighton, they create everything from window displays and pop-ups to full retail activations for a range of well-known brands. They’re now looking for an experienced Technical Designer to join their fast-paced, highly collaborative studio. \n This is a fully onsite role, five days a week, so it’s a great fit for someone who enjoys being close to production, working hands-on with teams and seeing ideas come to life. \n \n The role \n This is a key position within the design team, bridging creative concepts with technical delivery. You’ll take ideas from initial concept through to detailed drawings, ready for manufacture. \n\n • Translating creative concepts into clear, accurate technical drawings\n, • Producing full production packs with materials, specifications and build methods\n, • Working closely with Project Managers and Production teams to bring designs to life\n, • Preparing drawings for CNC and other machinery\n, • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery\n, • Contributing to a wide range of projects — from luxury retail to high street, including window displays, pop-ups and shop fits\n\n \n What they’re looking for \n\n • 5+ years’ experience in a similar technical or retail design role\n, • Strong background in retail, experiential or event design\n, • Excellent technical drawing skills with a solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes\n, • Confident working from concept through to production\n, • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with production teams and suppliers\n, • Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment\n\n Technical skills \n\n • Strong working knowledge of SketchUp, Vectric, VCarve or SolidWorks\n, • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)\n, • Rendering experience (ideally V-Ray)\n, • Good understanding of materials, fabrication techniques and production processes\n\n \n Why this role? \n This is a great opportunity to join a growing, well-established business where you’ll see your designs brought to life in real time. The team is hands-on, collaborative and passionate about what they do — and you’ll play a key role in delivering standout retail experiences. \n If you’re looking for a role where you can combine creativity with technical expertise, and want to be fully immersed in the process onsite, this is well worth exploring.
