Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary depending on the property and may include: • Vacuuming carpets and rugs, • Sweeping and mopping floors, • Emptying garbage and recycling containers, • Replacing garbage liners, • Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, • Cleaning sinks, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures, • Restocking toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other supplies, • Cleaning breakrooms and kitchen areas, • Wiping desks, counters, tables, doors, and common surfaces, • Dusting furniture, ledges, windowsills, and office equipment, • Cleaning glass doors and interior windows, • Disinfecting high-touch areas such as handles, switches, and railings, • Maintaining clean entrances, hallways, and common areas, • Following building-specific cleaning checklists, • Properly using cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies, • Reporting damages, maintenance problems, or supply shortages, • Taking completion photos when required, • Securing and locking the property after completing the shift, • Communicating with supervisors regarding any issues at the location Qualifications The ideal candidate will be: • Reliable and punctual, • Hardworking and trustworthy, • Detail-oriented, • Able to follow written and verbal instructions, • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, • Able to manage time efficiently, • Professional when interacting with clients, building staff, and coworkers, • Available for evening or weekend shifts, • Able to travel to cleaning locations throughout Long Island, • Able to pass a background check when required by the client, • Authorized to work in the United States Commercial cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, porter, hotel, restaurant, or building-maintenance experience is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Candidates should be able to: • Stand and walk for extended periods, • Bend, kneel, reach, and lift, • Carry cleaning supplies and equipment, • Safely operate vacuums, mops, and other cleaning equipment, • Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift Transportation Reliable transportation is strongly preferred because employees may be assigned to different properties throughout Long Island. Applicants should clearly state whether they have access to a personal vehicle and which areas of Long Island they are able to work in. Most available assignments are located in Nassau County and western Suffolk County, including areas such as: • Great Neck, • Manhasset, • Port Washington, • Roslyn, • Mineola, • Garden City, • New Hyde Park, • Hicksville, • Westbury, • Plainview, • Syosset, • Melville, • Huntington, • Farmingdale, • Other nearby Long Island communities Schedule Most commercial cleaning shifts take place after businesses close. Available schedules may include: • Monday through Friday evening shifts, • Weekend shifts, • Two to five shifts per week, • Approximately 10–30 hours per week, • Additional hours as new accounts are added Specific hours will depend on the assigned property.
