Job Description Laser tag at The City Forum is a show, and the Laser Tag Operator leads the experience. You’ll welcome each group, deliver an exciting mission briefing, launch the game, run the arena in character, celebrate the final scores, and send guests out ready for their next adventure. This role requires consistent energy—whether you’re leading the first game of the day or the thirty-first, and whether the arena has two players or forty. We’re looking for someone who can command a room, engage both children and adults, and turn an ordinary game into a memorable experience. What You’ll Do • Welcome players and set the energy for their experience, • Deliver clear, entertaining mission briefings and safety instructions, • Launch and manage games while staying engaged and in character, • Organize groups, maintain game flow, and encourage fair play, • Celebrate scores and give every group a strong send-off, • Prepare, test, reset, and troubleshoot laser tag equipment, • Keep the arena clean, organized, safe, and guest-ready, • Assist with player registration, queues, and other arena needs during training, • Provide friendly, helpful service when guests have questions or concerns What We’re Looking For • An outgoing personality and genuine enthusiasm for entertaining guests, • Confidence speaking and performing in front of groups, • The ability to command the attention of excited children and adults, • Dependable attendance and punctuality, • Strong communication, teamwork, and guest-service skills, • The ability to remain energetic in a fast-paced, physically active environment, • Availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, except Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, • The ability to follow safety procedures and learn electronic game equipment Customer-service, theater, coaching, camp-counseling, entertainment, or group-leadership experience is helpful, but prior laser tag experience is not required. Personality, reliability, and room presence matter more than a polished résumé. Pay and Growth • Starting pay is $11–$12 per hour, based on the candidate’s audition and demonstrated ability to lead the arena experience, • All new Operators complete required safety certification and mission training, • Operators who consistently meet the show, attendance, safety, and registration standards can advance to $13.50 per hour as a Proven Operator, • One $15-per-hour Lead Operator position is available through internal promotion from the Proven Operator team Advancement is earned by consistently delivering the experience—not simply by time in the role. Interviews will be an audition of sorts where you will be asked to show how you can own the arena. Workplace Appearance Standards This is a guest-facing position. Unnatural hair colors such as pink, blue, or bright or unusual reds are not permitted. Facial piercings are not permitted except for one nostril piercing; other facial piercings must be removed or replaced with a clear retainer while working. Gauged ears must be filled and may not exceed 19mm. Face and neck tattoos may not be visible while working. Requests related to religion, disability, medical needs, or another legally protected reason will be reviewed individually.
