Details\n \n • Work within a Perinatal Float Pool, rotating among L&D, Postpartum, and LDRP units\n, • Teaching hospital setting with high-risk and low-risk obstetric patient populations\n, • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)\n, • Must be available to work one additional overtime shift per 2-week period based on unit needs\n, • No blocked or self-scheduling available\n, • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on census and unit requirements\n, • Preferred charting system experience with Epic; Cerner charting experience required\n Requirements\n \n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration\n, • Minimum 2 years of combined Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas (hard requirement)\n, • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required\n, • Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past 2 years for specialized units\n, • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP (hard requirement)\n, • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BSN\n, • Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation/scrub, VBAC management, and management of pregnancy complications (e.g., HELLP syndrome, pre-eclampsia, placenta previa)\n, • Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement/calibration, and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns\n, • Experience with postpartum care including hemorrhage management, cesarean recovery, and couplet care\n, • Newborn care skills including neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation\n, • Two manager/supervisory references required, including at least one from the specific unit within the past year\n, • Must pass EKG exam (3 attempts allowed)\n, • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will be screened for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n, • Provide comprehensive perinatal nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum settings\n, • Responsibilities include managing high-risk deliveries, administering medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, and providing newborn care immediately after delivery\n, • Support patients with complex conditions including diabetes, cardiac disease, substance abuse, and multiple gestation pregnancies\n, • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers\n, • No RTO permitted within the first 3 weeks of the assignment\n, • RTO must be confirmed and submitted prior to assignment start, and cannot be changed once submitted\n, • Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at the time of consideration and be approved prior to assignment\n, • Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler\n, • Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained is required for consideration\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-745926.
