Job DescriptionJob Title: General Laborer IJob Description This entry-level role involves working on a production line in a clean, multi-floor facility, performing a variety of general labor tasks such as packaging, stacking, assembling, and basic equipment operation. The position offers structured training and a clear path for advancement into machine operation and chemical mixing roles for those who demonstrate strong performance and interest in growth. Responsibilities • Work on a production line performing 3–4 core duties and rotate between them on a daily or weekly basis., • Package hardened blocks of laundry detergent and other chemical blocks into boxes with attention to accuracy and safety., • Stack boxed products onto pallets using equipment designed to reduce bending and physical strain., • Lift cases weighing up to 15 pounds consistently throughout the day while following safe lifting practices., • Place caps on tubs moving down the production line; this task may be performed while seated., • Assemble and build boxes and product containers using hand tools and pre-cut materials., • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with appropriate identifying information., • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine work assignments, materials, and equipment needs., • Record the number of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets., • Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment., • Sort cargo prior to loading and unloading to ensure correct placement and efficient workflow., • Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber when required., • Load and unload ship cargo using winches and other hoisting devices where applicable., • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers to meet quality and safety standards., • Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks to the work area and return them after use., • Participate in cleaning and training activities during the first and last hour of the shift to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment., • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety strategies related to equipment use and protection of people, property, data, and facilities., • Collaborate with team members, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or GED required., • 0–2 years of general labor or related experience; at least 1 year of manufacturing production experience preferred., • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds consistently throughout the workday., • Ability to wear steel toe boots as part of required personal protective equipment., • Verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions and complete documentation., • Analytical and problem-solving ability to handle routine production and material handling issues., • Ability to work effectively as a team player and maintain strong attention to detail., • Basic knowledge of material handling equipment and tools used in production and shipping environments., • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety strategies related to facility operations and protection of people, property, and data.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior experience in a chemical production environment is preferred but not required., • Previous packaging, cleaning, loading, unloading, sorting, palletizing, and assembly experience is an advantage., • Comfort working with production machinery such as wrapping and filling equipment after training., • Willingness to learn and progress into advanced roles, including machine operation and chemical mixing., • Ability to adapt to rotating tasks and changing priorities on the production line.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a very clean production area located on the bottom floor of a three-floor facility, with two of the three floors being climate controlled to enhance comfort. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including three scheduled breaks at 9:00 a.m., lunch, and 2:00 p.m. Production activities typically occur for six hours per day, with the first and last hour dedicated to cleaning and training. Work is performed on and around production lines handling chemical-based products such as laundry detergent blocks, using material handling equipment, hand tools, pallets, and packaging machinery. Employees are expected to wear steel toe boots and adhere to all safety and cleanliness standards while working in this organized and well-maintained industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
