Massage Therapist at Luxury Spa - CAMTC Certified Weekends Required
3 days ago
Granite Bay
Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • Employee discounts, • Training & development About Us Dolce Vita is an established luxury day spa in Granite Bay serving a loyal, high-value clientele. We are not a chain and we are not a franchise. Our therapists work with quality products and are supported by a front desk that knows how to book and keep you busy. Our clients rebook and our weekends are consistently busy. How We Work We hire therapists because they are skilled with their hands and good with people. That is what we ask you to do. No quotas. No selling on the table. You will never be given a required retail target, an add-on target, or a script. If a client asks what you used, tell them, and you will earn commission on it. But we do not want anyone interrupting a client's ninety minutes to pitch them something. Our clients are paying for an experience, not a sales pitch. We usually book 60 and 90 minutes. No rushed half-hours, no chair work. Long enough to do the work properly and long enough for the client to actually get the benefits. Fifteen paid minutes after every service, built into the schedule. Every 60-minute massage is booked with 15 minutes of paid non-productive time behind it, and you are paid for 15 minutes before your first service to set up your room. That time is scheduled for you. Back-to-back bookings are how good therapists get injured and burn out, and we build the schedule to protect against it. You do not do laundry, and you do not run the front. We have full laundry service once you bring your soiled linens to the laundry room. Our front desk books, greets, checks clients in, handles arrival beverages, and checks them out. Your attention belongs on the client in your room. You only perform services you are comfortable performing. Tell us your modalities and where you are strongest, and that is what we make bookable on your schedule. We do not sell a service you did not sign up for and then hand it to you. Clients are not rushed out. They get a few minutes to come back to themselves, dress at their own pace, and have water or tea in the relaxation and can take the time they want before they leave. The measure of your work here is simple: the client walks out feeling better than when they walked in, and they ask for you by name next time. The Schedule — Please Read Before Applying Weekends are the core of this role. Saturday and Sunday availability is an essential function of this position. We are looking for someone who wants those days. Two ways to work here: Full-Time (4–5 days/week) • Saturday and Sunday — required, • Friday — strongly preferred, • 1–2 additional weekdays — your choice, negotiablePart-Time (2–3 days/week), • Saturday and Sunday — required, • One additional day — optionalIf the weekend-only track is what fits your life, say so in your application. We would rather have an excellent therapist two days a week than a reluctant one five days a week. Two dates we ask everyone to hold: Valentine's Day weekend and Mother's Day weekend are our busiest of the year. Time off is generally not approved for those two weekends, and additional hours may be required. We tell you this up front so there are no surprises in February. What You'll Be Doing The service • Take your client back on time. Their appointment starts when we told them it would., • Review their intake form before you begin, and ask what brought them in such as their problem areas, injuries, pressure preference, anything they want you to avoid., • Check in during the service. Is the pressure right? Are they warm enough? A client who spends ninety minutes quietly wishing you would ease up is a client who does not come back., • Manage your time so the work is balanced meaning each side of the body gets the attention it needs, and you finish on time without rushing the last ten minutes., • Offer water at the end if time allows. If it does not, let the front desk know and they can meet them in the relaxation room., • If you believe a problem area would respond to repeat sessions, say so before they leave. That is a therapist judgment, and we want you using it., • If a client asks what you used, or you can tell a product would genuinely help them, tell them and earn 10% on it. You are never required to bring it up, no one tracks whether you did, and there is no required target.Your room, • Table warmed, room set, everything ready before the client walks in, • Between every service: strip the bed, fresh linens, wipe up spills, sanitize surfaces, restock, • Leave the room the way you would want to find itYour menu, • Swedish/relaxation and deep tissue are required. They are our two highest-volume services by a wide margin, and every therapist here should be strong in both., • During onboarding we go through your modalities and comfort level, and only the services you can perform become bookable on your schedule. Prenatal, hot stone, Nourishing Body Massage, and body treatments such scrubs, wraps, hydrobath, sauna, paraffin are popular customer additions., • We book 60 and 90 minutes only. What We're Looking For Required: • Current, valid CAMTC certification in good standing, • Strong in both Swedish/relaxation and deep tissue, • Ability to perform the physical requirements of massage therapy including sustained standing, repetitive hand and arm motion, and lifting and positioning clients and equipment., • Saturday and Sunday availability, • Reliability. Our clients are paying luxury prices for a specific appointment time, and we take that seriously.Preferred:, • Three or more years in a spa, clinical, or resort setting, • Prenatal certification or experience, • Hot stone experience, • Demonstrated client rebooking historyCompensation & Benefits, • $33-$41 per hour, depending on experience (rate includes hourly and commission on every service you perform), • 10% commission on retail, if and when a client asks you for a recommendation. We do not take a cut and we do not pool without your agreement., • You are paid for non-productive time including room setup before your first service, 15 minutes of cleanup after every service, training, and meetings. You are not paid only when your hands are on a client., • Overtime paid at 1.5x per California law, • Paid sick leave (5 days per year for full time), • We pay for your CAMTC recertification, • One complimentary spa treatment per quarter, up to $200 value, • 30% friends and family discount on select treatments, • Employee discount on all retail products, • Biweekly pay, direct deposit availableThis is a W-2 employee position.
