A day in this role You start your shift walking the line of Wickman and ACME multi‑spindle screw machines—listening for changes in sound, checking lubrication, and reviewing overnight log entries. You plan preventive tasks, then jump in to diagnose a sticking slide or mis-timed cam. A quick center height tweak and fine-tune on a Reed thread rolling head have a job running to spec. Mid-morning, you assist with a changeover, calculate feeds and RPMs, and verify tooling geometry. After lunch, you document parts usage, complete a corrective repair on a gearbox, advise an operator on safe care practices, and collaborate with production on a machine upgrade idea that will boost uptime. Before you leave, you record all work, confirm safety and quality checks, and line up tomorrow’s PMs. What you’ll own • Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on ACME, Wickman, and other multi‑spindle screw machines to maximize uptime and throughput., • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and perform timely repairs—major and minor—on production machinery., • Operate screw machines as needed to meet production needs and validate repairs., • Support setups, changeovers, adjustments, center height settings, and fine‑tuning across varied part runs., • Inspect equipment for wear, flag risks, and recommend component replacement or enhanced PM actions., • Maintain accurate logs: maintenance history, repair details, and parts consumption., • Contribute to preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives that raise machine reliability., • Assist with tooling changes, machine upgrades, and process improvements., • Coach operators on proper care, safe operation, and routine maintenance practices., • Ensure all work meets safety policies, procedures, and quality standards; own the results and conformance to specifications., • Perform other duties as assigned.
