A day in this role You start your shift walking the line of Wickman and ACME multi‑spindle screw machines—listening for changes in sound, checking lubrication, and reviewing overnight log entries. You plan preventive tasks, then jump in to diagnose a sticking slide or mis-timed cam. A quick center height tweak and fine-tune on a Reed thread rolling head have a job running to spec. Mid-morning, you assist with a changeover, calculate feeds and RPMs, and verify tooling geometry.
