Job Description Law Firm Clerk Location: White Plains, NY Job Type: Full-Time (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Monday - Friday Salary: $19.23 to $24.04 per hour ($40,00 – $50,000/yr) Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits: • Health, Dental, Vision, • 401(k) with match, • PTO + 11 federal holidays, • Commuter benefits + employee discounts Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and professional Law Firm Clerk to handle all aspects of records and document management within our law firm. The successful candidate will manage both physical and electronic records, support firm operations, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information for Partners, Attorneys, Human Resources, and administrative staff. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively coordinate office technology and vendors, support onboarding efforts, and maintain professionalism in a fast paced, high stakes legal environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities File Room & Records Management • Handle the daily operations of the firm's file room and records management functions., • Handle the creation, organization, retention, storage, retrieval, archiving, and destruction of client and administrative files., • Maintain accurate and efficient document management procedures., • Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal records retention requirements., • Coordinate file transfers and compliant file destruction services. Technology & IT Coordination • Possess working knowledge of basic computer hardware and office technology., • Set up and connect desktop computers, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, telephones, and peripherals for new employees and office relocations., • Assist IT personnel with basic troubleshooting of computers, printers, and office equipment., • Coordinate technology-related service requests and follow through to resolution., • Serve as a liaison between the firm and external providers. Legal Software & Document Management • Support the firm's document management and records systems., • Assist with legal filing procedures and document organization., • Ensure proper indexing and maintenance of electronic and physical records. Qualifications Required Experience • 3+ years of experience in law firm records management, file room operations, or legal administration., • Strong knowledge of law firm filing systems, document management, and legal records procedures., • Experience with PerfectLaw or comparable legal practice management systems., • Knowledge of Xerox copiers, HP printers, and their consumable components., • Basic computer setup and troubleshooting experience. Skills and Abilities • Exceptional organizational and time management skills., • Strong leadership and personnel management abilities., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and responsibilities., • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications., • Strong problem solving and customer service orientation., • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
