Job Description BBehavior is developing a dedicated pediatric diagnostic assessment center serving children and families in Florida. We are seeking an experienced, Florida licensed psychologist to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and serve as the center’s Clinical Director. This is a leadership opportunity for a psychologist who has substantial experience conducting autism and developmental assessments and is interested in helping build a high quality diagnostic program. The selected psychologist will help establish BBehavior’s assessment frameworks, clinical protocols, documentation standards, quality-assurance procedures, and diagnostic service offerings. The ideal candidate can work independently, exercise strong clinical judgment, provide family-centered care, and guide the development of an efficient and clinically sound assessment program. Primary Clinical Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations for pediatric patients., • Perform clinical interviews with parents, caregivers and children., • Administer direct and indirect diagnostic assessments., • Select clinically appropriate assessment instruments based on the patient’s age, presentation and referral concerns., • Administer, score and interpret standardized instruments, including the ADOS-2, ADI-R and other appropriate assessment tools., • Evaluate developmental, behavioral, cognitive, adaptive and social-emotional functioning when clinically indicated., • Complete differential diagnostic assessments involving autism, ADHD, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities and related conditions., • Review medical, educational, behavioral and therapy records., • Integrate interview findings, behavioral observations, testing results and collateral information., • Communicate preliminary findings to parents and caregivers when clinically appropriate., • Conduct formal feedback sessions with families., • Prepare clear, accurate and high-quality diagnostic reports., • Provide practical recommendations and referrals to families, physicians, schools and other treatment professionals., • Maintain complete and timely clinical documentation., • Exercise independent professional and clinical judgment in all diagnostic decisions. Clinical Director Responsibilities • Lead the development of BBehavior’s pediatric diagnostic assessment program., • Help establish standardized assessment pathways based on age, referral concern and clinical presentation., • Recommend appropriate testing instruments, materials and scoring systems., • Develop assessment procedures, clinical workflows and quality standards., • Assist with creating intake forms, consent forms, clinical templates, report formats and family-feedback procedures., • Establish standards for record review, test administration, scoring, interpretation and report completion., • Create protocols for autism, ADHD, developmental, cognitive, adaptive and diagnostic-clarification evaluations., • Establish expected timelines for evaluations, feedback appointments and final reports., • Monitor the clinical quality and consistency of diagnostic services., • Conduct periodic chart and report reviews for quality assurance., • Maintain test security and appropriate use of copyrighted assessment materials., • Advise leadership regarding staffing, scheduling, testing capacity and clinical-resource needs., • Help identify and train additional qualified psychologists, psychometrists or clinical team members as the program grows., • Collaborate with BBehavior’s administrative, credentialing and billing teams while maintaining independent control over clinical decisions., • Ensure that the assessment program operates within applicable professional, ethical, payer and Florida regulatory requirements., • Support the responsible expansion of diagnostic services throughout Florida. Required Qualifications • Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling or school psychology from an accredited program., • Active and unrestricted Florida psychologist license, or immediate eligibility to obtain Florida licensure., • At least five years of experience providing psychological services to pediatric patients preferred., • At least three years of direct experience conducting pediatric autism and developmental diagnostic evaluations., • Formal training and demonstrated proficiency in administering and interpreting the ADOS-2., • Experience using the ADI-R and other evidence-based diagnostic instruments., • Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and pediatric differential diagnosis., • Experience assessing children age 18 and younger., • Demonstrated ability to independently select appropriate assessment batteries., • Strong clinical interviewing, testing, scoring and interpretation skills., • Excellent diagnostic-report writing skills., • Ability to clearly explain complex clinical findings to families., • Strong understanding of professional ethics, informed consent, test security, documentation and patient confidentiality., • Ability to work independently while collaborating with administrative and interdisciplinary teams., • Previous clinical leadership, program-development or supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications • Experience managing a pediatric diagnostic assessment program., • Experience developing clinical protocols and standardized assessment frameworks., • Experience with commercial insurance and Florida Medicaid documentation requirements., • Experience evaluating children with complex developmental, behavioral or communication needs., • Knowledge of ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, school-based services and community resources., • Bilingual ability is a plus but is not required.
