Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in Sacramento, CA to hire a Dental Insurance Billing Specialist on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced dental billing professional to step into a newly created role focused on improving revenue cycle operations, reducing billing backlogs, and ensuring claims are accurate before submission. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating issues, auditing claims, and solving problems rather than simply processing transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing documentation, identifying coding discrepancies, verifying insurance coverage, and helping improve overall claim accuracy and reimbursement outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Audit dental insurance claims prior to submission, • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage, • Review and track pre-authorizations, • Analyze provider notes and supporting documentation, • Identify billing discrepancies and coding errors, • Ensure accurate CDT coding and claim submission requirements are met, • Research and resolve claim issues proactively, • Review new claims and help reduce an existing billing backlog, • Manage a workload of approximately 30 new claims daily during peak periods, • Work independently with minimal supervision, • Communicate with students, faculty, providers, and internal stakeholders as needed, • Support revenue cycle and billing process improvementsQualifications, • Minimum 3 years of insurance billing experience, • Dental billing experience required, • Experience with CDT coding, • Strong understanding of government insurance programs and managed care plans, • Proven ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies, • Experience reviewing documentation for coding accuracy, • Strong auditing, analytical, and problem-solving skills, • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications, • Epic experience preferred (system go-live scheduled for November), • Dental experience highly preferred, • Experience with government-sponsored dental insurance programs, • Previous dental clinic, dental practice, or healthcare provider experience, • Experience supporting revenue cycle improvements and claims quality initiativesWhy Consider This Opportunity?, • Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential, • Newly created role with immediate impact, • Opportunity to help improve billing operations and reduce backlog, • Collaborative healthcare environment, • Work with an organization committed to serving students and faculty, • Gain experience supporting an Epic implementationPay Details: Pay will be based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws. Range $24.18 to $27.37.
