Summary: As a Legal Assistant at McCarthy & Holthus, LLP, you will work directly with experienced attorneys, providing essential support in handling replevin cases. Your responsibilities will include drafting and filing court pleadings, assisting with discovery, managing case documentation, communicating with Clients, Borrowers, and various third parties. This role is ideal for skilled legal assistants eager to advance their careers in a dynamic and impactful legal setting. Core Functions: • Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with attorneys and your team members on replevin cases, ensuring effective case management and seamless teamwork., • Handle Court Filings: Prepare, file, and manage critical court documents with accuracy and facilitate clear communication among the team., • Coordinate Legal Proceedings: Schedule and oversee hearings, maintain precise calendaring and deadlines to ensure smooth case progress., • Organize Records: Efficiently order and organize essential case records, contributing to strategic problem-solving and discussions., • Track Deadlines: Maintain meticulous calendars and deadlines, ensuring the litigation process runs smoothly., • Engage Clients: Keep clients informed and engaged with timely updates on their case status., • Update + Maintain Internal Client Systems: Engage Clients: Update our internal case management system as well as external Client case management systems such as CounselLink, Loansphere, etc. What We’re Looking For: • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant, with a focus on replevin or related fields. Experience with secured mortgage lenders/servicers is a plus!, • Skills: Exceptional communication and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of filing systems such as OneLegal, Odyssey, Proof, etc., • Independence: A proactive self-starter who excels in an independent role and takes initiative., • Knowledge: Solid understanding of court rules and procedures, both state and federal, with confidence in navigating the legal landscape., • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and excels in a collaborative team setting., • Proficiency: Skilled in filing documents in state and federal courts. Work Schedule: This is a 100% office position requiring your physical presence Monday through Friday, with business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hybrid work eligibility may be available following the completion of training and management approval. Salary Range: The salary for this position typically ranges from $18-$20/hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Please note that the final offer may differ based on the candidate's specific qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and business needs.
