Job Description Job Title: Superintendent Job Description The Superintendent oversees day-to-day field operations on commercial and healthcare construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards. This role coordinates subcontractors and field staff, maintains accurate project documentation, and collaborates closely with project stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly. Responsibilities • Oversee daily field operations on healthcare and commercial construction sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards., • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to maintain an efficient workflow and resolve on-site issues promptly., • Ensure full compliance with regulations, including maintaining proper documentation, coordinating inspections, and communicating with field staff as required., • Conduct regular safety meetings, enforce site safety protocols, and promote a strong safety culture on all job sites., • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation to track progress, issues, and resolutions., • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to address field conditions, clarify design intent, and maintain project momentum., • Lead, mentor, and support field personnel to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement., • Support subcontractor management activities, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and coordination of work sequences., • Assist with change order processes by identifying field changes, providing input on impacts, and supporting documentation as needed., • Participate in or support bidding and preconstruction efforts by providing field insights on logistics, sequencing, and constructability., • Ensure construction activities comply with healthcare-specific requirements, including infection control protocols (ICRA) and life safety standards., • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules, and communicate relevant information to field teams., • Utilize construction management software tools to manage information, track progress, and support reporting requirements. Essential Skills • Proven experience leading full construction projects, with hotel, education, and museum project experience preferred., • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects with values of $20M or more., • Strong understanding of healthcare construction processes, including infection control risk assessment (ICRA) protocols and life safety requirements., • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules accurately., • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct, mentor, and motivate field personnel., • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with subcontractors, project teams, and clients., • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, documentation, and priorities in a fast-paced field environment., • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project., • Experience in commercial construction supervision, including subcontractor management and field coordination., • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with OSHA 30 certification preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience managing healthcare construction projects and familiarity with HCAI requirements., • Training or certification related to HCAI compliance is a plus., • Experience in bidding, change order processes, and commercial construction project delivery., • Experience working on hotel, education, and museum projects is highly desirable., • OSHA 30 certification is preferred and demonstrates a strong commitment to jobsite safety., • Comfort working with both indoor and outdoor job sites in varying conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
