Job DescriptionJob Title: Data Center Cleaning Technician (Short-Term Project)Job Description Join a specialized team for a two-week data center cleaning project in Katy, TX. In this role, you perform detailed cleaning in a live technical environment, including lifting floor tiles, cleaning around and under cabling, and sanitizing critical equipment and surfaces. You work on your feet for extended periods, frequently bending, stooping, and twisting to reach lower areas, and occasionally using an 8-foot ladder to access higher surfaces. This position is ideal for individuals with industrial or construction cleanup experience who are comfortable in tight spaces and at heights. Responsibilities • Lift and replace floor tiles safely to access and clean areas around and under cabling., • Clean, dust, and wipe down walls, server racks, equipment, cabling poles, and other surfaces throughout the data center., • Sweep, mop, and dust the facility, ensuring all assigned areas remain clean and orderly., • Use specialized cleaning agents and sterilization products in accordance with safety guidelines and instructions., • Perform detailed cleaning in tight spaces and around sensitive equipment without disturbing operations., • Work on your feet for extended periods while consistently remaining active and productive., • Frequently stoop, twist, bend at the waist and knees, and reach to clean lower and hard-to-access surfaces., • Climb and work from an 8-foot ladder when needed to clean and dust higher areas., • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times., • Maintain a professional, customer-conscious demeanor while working in an operational data center environment., • Arrive at the designated shop location daily to meet the team and travel together to the data center worksite., • Handle tools, cleaning equipment, and materials responsibly and return company-issued safety gear at project completion.Essential Skills, • Previous construction or industrial cleanup experience., • General labor experience in physically demanding environments., • Ability to work comfortably at heights, including on an 8-foot ladder., • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces safely and efficiently., • Experience with cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general janitorial duties., • Ability to use sanitizing and sterilizing cleaners appropriately and safely., • Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and twist for long periods during 9–10 hour shifts., • Reliability in following schedules and completing a short-term, intensive project., • Strong attention to detail when cleaning around sensitive technical equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • OSHA 10 certification., • Experience operating a manlift., • Previous data center cleaning or maintenance experience., • Experience working in cleanroom or sterile environments., • Customer-facing or client-facing experience in a professional setting., • Background in industrial, custodial, or facility cleaning roles.Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a short-term project role based out of a shop in Houston, TX with daily travel to a data center facility in Katy, TX. You can expect to work approximately 9–10 hours per day, six days a week, over a two-week period. The schedule includes a half-day training session followed by full workdays Monday through Saturday for two consecutive weeks, including a day over a holiday weekend. The work takes place in an operational data center environment, which is ventilated in some areas and contains sensitive technical equipment. Each day, the team meets at the shop and then travels together in a sprinter van to the data center. The dress code requires solid color shirts, jeans that fully cover the ankles, and steel-toe boots. Hard hats, safety vests, and safety glasses are provided on site and must be returned at the end of the project. The role is physically demanding, with extended periods on your feet and frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and ladder use in an industrial, technical setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jersey Village, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
