Job Description Custodian Location: Louisville, KY Pay: $18/hour Status: Part-time Schedule: • Tuesdays–Fridays: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., • Alternating Sundays: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. About the Role: Kelly seeks a Custodian who will create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities, supporting our mission to Worship with Hope, Grow with Love, and Serve with a Passion for Justice. The Custodian maintains worship spaces, classrooms, offices, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas, ensuring readiness for services, ministries, meetings, and church events. Key Responsibilities: • Clean and maintain all church areas including sanctuary, classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and kitchens, • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and clean surfaces, • Remove trash and recycling, maintain waste areas, • Clean and sanitize restrooms; replenish supplies, • Set up and clean up rooms for events, • Monitor cleaning/restroom supplies, request reorders as needed, • Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns, • Perform minor maintenance tasks, • Ensure entrances and walkways are clean and safe, • Follow proper procedures for use and disposal of cleaning products, • Secure assigned areas and adhere to access policies, • Support a welcoming environment with respectful interactions, • Perform other related duties as assigned Core Competencies: • Integrity and Trust: Honest and transparent communication, keeps confidences, • Technical Expertise: Proficient in building maintenance and cleaning, • Time Management: Effective and efficient task completion, • Teamwork: Collaborates well, supports colleagues and volunteers Working Relationships: • Reports to Director of Finance and Operations, • Works closely with Senior Minister, church staff, volunteers Qualifications: • Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred, • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently, • Safe operation of cleaning equipment and products, • Reliable, trustworthy, attentive to detail, • Able to lift, carry, bend, reach, and complete all physical tasks, • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed, • Commitment to confidentiality and respectful stewardship Physical Requirements: • Standing and walking for extended periods, • Bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and carrying supplies/equipment The Ideal Candidate: Dependable, conscientious, respectful, service-oriented, and proud to maintain a welcoming church facility.
