Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & Robotics Job Description This role supports a high-speed manufacturing operation as the primary mechanical expert for production and support equipment. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, filling equipment, and other industrial machinery, while assisting with basic electrical tasks. You will help keep lines running efficiently, support changeovers, train team members on mechanical processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a clean, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities • Serve as the mechanical expert for production and support equipment in a manufacturing environment., • Ensure production and support equipment operate safely and efficiently at all times., • Perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, filling equipment, and other industrial machinery and facility systems., • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on equipment and perform repairs or adjustments as needed., • Perform basic electrical duties such as replacing motors, switches, photo eyes (PE), and similar components, while collaborating with industrial electricians or PLC programmers on complex issues., • Perform package changeovers on production lines as required to support different products and formats., • Support the production team on all aspects of equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability., • Train team members on mechanical processes, equipment operation, and basic maintenance practices., • Focus on continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and safety., • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with ISO and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards., • Follow written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions to complete maintenance tasks and projects., • Utilize company-provided tools, technology, and resources to document work, access technical information, and support maintenance activities., • Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and help maintain the safety and security of company assets., • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance and support weekend, holiday, or flexible scheduling as required by production demands. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a maintenance technician in high-speed manufacturing, especially with conveyor and filler line equipment., • Experience with mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyors, and high-speed packaging lines., • Basic electrical maintenance skills, including replacing motors, switches, and photo eyes (PE)., • Ability to read and work from schematics and diagrams., • Experience in conveyor maintenance and assembly line environments., • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment that promotes a healthy, active work style., • Ability to work effectively with industrial electricians and PLC programmers on more complex electrical or controls issues., • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and continuous learning opportunities., • Ability to effectively utilize company-provided technology and resources for maintenance planning, documentation, and communication. Dress typically includes practical work attire suitable for a maintenance setting, along with appropriate safety gear as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shreveport, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
