As an Employee Occupational Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting safe patient care by managing both administrative and clinical tasks that keep the department running smoothly and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. Assists and supports the physician and other staff members by providing quality patient care with the admission of the patient to the clinical area, the collection of patient information/medical data in a confidential and organized manner, assistance with treatments, procedures, examinations and the referral of patients to specialists or ancillary care. Maintains medical supply inventory, stocking, and biohazard medical wastes management. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance and safety. Has the opportunity to specialize into a role further supporting employee health of St. David's Healthcare or into an occupational health technical specialist. This is an On call position and not a traditional PRN position. The Occ Health Tech will participate in the OHS after Hours Program (Nights and Weekends) Your responsibilities will include: • Providing front-line administrative support, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing billing, and maintaining accurate records, • Assist with patient care, • Acting as a patient advocate by promptly responding to questions and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism, • Maintaining thorough and organized patient and employee health files, ensuring all documentation is up to date, • Coordinating employee health services such as pre-employment screenings, immunizations, fit testing, and follow-up on work-related injuries., • Monitoring and restocking medical and office supplies to keep the unit fully equipped and ready to provide care, • Performs Laboratory Testing, • Performs Drug and Alcohol Screen collections, • Maintains Patient medical records Experience: At least 6 months experience in a medical setting License Required • Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Texas, • BLS for healthcare provider, • (BAT) Breath Alcohol Technician must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date, • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • Urine Drug Screen Collector must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date, • High School Graduate / GED St. David's Healthcare, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
