Job DescriptionJob Title: PackerJob Description The Packer plays a key role in safely and accurately packing customer equipment and materials into custom crates and packaging. This position focuses on crate assembly, detailed packaging component assembly, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment. You will work with wood, corrugated, foam, and plastic materials, using a variety of hand and power tools to ensure products are securely packaged and ready for shipment. Responsibilities • Carefully load customer equipment and materials into crates using hand trucks, pallet jacks, ladders, or ramps to ensure safe and secure transport., • Unload, prepare, and assemble crates using hammers, nail guns, drills, and other hand and power tools, assisting with additional crate assembly tasks as needed., • Fold, glue, tape, stitch, and assemble corrugated, foam, and plastic packaging components to create complete packaging solutions., • Accurately assemble kits and return unused materials to stock to support cost savings and inventory accuracy., • Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform quality checks to verify accuracy and completeness of packaging and assemblies., • Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient operation of tools and machinery., • Follow all procedures and policies, ensuring you understand equipment operation before use and adhere to standard operating procedures., • Speak up and report any unsafe conditions or behaviors to support a strong safety culture in the facility., • Work efficiently and consistently to meet production goals and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Collaborate with other team members to accomplish tasks safely and effectively as part of a production team., • Use pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials and finished crates throughout the facility., • Use a tape measure and read measurements in ¼ and ⅛ inch increments to support accurate cutting, assembly, and packing., • Log in and out of systems using an ID and potentially learn and use new software as required for production and tracking.Essential Skills, • 3–6 months of prior packaging and/or assembly experience., • Ability to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials safely., • Strong spatial awareness and meticulous attention to detail for packing and securing materials to prevent damage., • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision., • Clear communication skills and ability to understand written and verbal instructions., • Strong attention to detail in all aspects of packing, assembly, and quality checks., • English fluency, including reading, writing, and verbal communication., • Basic computer skills, including logging in and out with an ID and willingness to learn new software., • Ability to work at a steady pace and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment., • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team., • Ability to accurately read a tape measure in ¼ and ⅛ inch increments.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred., • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred., • Experience with wood working, including handling wood materials and using related tools., • Comfort working with hand and power tools such as hammers, nail guns, and saws., • Experience in production, general labor, packing, crate assembly, picking, order picking, and palletizing.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing environment that focuses on wood working and crate production. You will regularly work around and with nail guns, saws, drills, hammers, and other hand and power tools, as well as pallet jacks and hand trucks for material movement. The setting is fast-paced and production-oriented, with standard operating procedures guiding daily tasks to maintain safety and efficiency. You can expect a hands-on, industrial workspace with active machinery, wood materials, and packaging components such as corrugated, foam, and plastic. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
