Job Description Job Title: Shipper and Receiver Job Description This role focuses on shipping, receiving, and inventory handling within a climate-controlled distribution environment that supports print production, displays, merchandising solutions, packaging, creative services, fulfillment, and distribution. You will ensure materials and products are accurately received, stored, picked, and shipped while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and organization in the warehouse. Responsibilities • Receive, count, and verify incoming stock items, recording data manually or using computer systems., • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards., • Store materials and products in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other storage areas., • Verify inventory computations by comparing system records to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or correct errors., • Label and identify stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, RF scanners, or other labeling equipment., • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations., • Keep accurate records of stock usage, damage, and stock handling equipment., • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damage or issues to supervisors., • Perform material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, and moving products using forklifts, reach trucks, and walkies as required., • Pick and prepare orders for shipment using RF scanners and shipping software., • Provide assistance, guidance, and support to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to ensure smooth operations., • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of steel toe boots and adherence to warehouse safety standards. Essential Skills • Proven experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or distribution environment., • Hands-on experience with inventory control, including counting, recording, and verifying stock., • Ability to operate forklifts, including sit-down forklifts and reach trucks, in a safe and efficient manner., • Experience using RF scanners for inventory management and order picking., • Proficiency with shipping and receiving processes and shipping software., • Strong material handling skills, including loading, unloading, and moving stock., • Ability to perform order picking and packing with attention to accuracy and detail., • Capability to inspect stock for wear, defects, or damage and report issues promptly., • Comfort working in a team-based warehouse environment and assisting other warehouse staff., • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience operating walkies or similar powered industrial trucks., • Worked in a distribution or fulfillment environment., • Familiarity with inventory recordkeeping and basic computer data entry., • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and communication., • Interest in learning about printing and related production processes. Work Environment You work in a climate-controlled distribution environment alongside a small team of approximately four other shipping clerks. The setting focuses on fulfillment and warehouse operations tied to print and merchandising solutions. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering consistent daytime hours. You use warehouse technologies such as forklifts, reach trucks, walkies, RF scanners, and shipping software to complete daily tasks. The environment emphasizes safety and organization, and you must wear steel toe boots and work pants as part of the required dress code. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesquite, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
