Job Description Job Title: Wiring Technician Job Description This Wiring Technician role focuses on assembling electrical components and structures into finished products according to detailed specifications, blueprints, and work orders. You will work with diagrams and schematics, use a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure all assemblies meet quality, safety, and performance standards in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Assemble various electrical and structural components into finished products by following specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and work orders., • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, front views, bills of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems to ensure accurate assembly., • Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches safely and correctly to install materials and torque bolts to required specifications., • Assemble copper bussing according to design, verifying correct spacing from phase to phase and ground., • Ensure the quality of structures by checking that products are level, square, and assembled according to design requirements., • Inspect components such as corner posts, roofs, and covers for damage, including dents and scratches, before and during assembly., • Perform visual inspections of materials before and after assembly, identify nonconforming parts, and troubleshoot errors to maintain product quality., • Assemble switchboards, panelboards, and related assemblies using oral and written instructions, proactively identifying missing components or discrepancies., • Communicate job progress clearly within the assigned area and promptly identify problem areas or part shortages., • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in root cause analysis for quality or production issues., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all company safety protocols and procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment., • Collaborate effectively with team members and leads to meet production goals and support a cooperative work environment., • Utilize ERP and inventory control systems as needed to support manufacturing processes and track materials., • Follow established procedures and manufacturing processes to complete assigned functions accurately and efficiently., • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills • Proven experience working as an Assembler or Wiring Technician in a manufacturing environment., • Strong ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and related manufacturing documentation., • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches for mechanical and electrical assembly., • Clear understanding of manufacturing information such as front views, bills of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems., • Ability to assemble switchboards, panelboards, and copper bussing according to design specifications., • Strong attention to detail, concentration, and accuracy when inspecting components and finished structures., • Ability to identify nonconforming parts, perform visual inspections, and troubleshoot assembly errors., • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently., • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and apply problem-solving skills in a production environment., • Proficiency in using a computer and CAD software to open and follow structural designs., • Ability to multi-task, establish work priorities, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods., • Comfort working in a manufacturing floor environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures., • Commitment to following safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Familiarity with assembly tools and techniques used in electrical and mechanical manufacturing., • Experience working within GMP or structured manufacturing processes., • Exposure to ERP systems and inventory control processes in a production environment., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively., • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and participate in root cause analysis., • Interest in career development into areas such as quality, machine operation, or leadership roles., • Willingness to participate in extensive hands-on training and ongoing skill development. Work Environment You will work in a brand-new manufacturing facility that will ultimately support approximately 200–250 team members on site. The environment is a production floor with exposure to machinery, operational noise, and varying temperatures. The hours are 7 AM - 5 PM Monday-Friday. During your first week, you will receive dedicated, structured training before being assigned to a team. The role requires standing or walking for long periods and occasionally lifting 25–50 lbs. Safety is a top priority: you must wear steel-toed boots, and safety glasses are provided. Long pants made of thicker material (not leggings) and long sleeves or cut-resistant sleeves are required; the organization helps supply cut-resistant sleeves as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
