Job DescriptionJob Title: Bench TechnicianJob Description The Bench Technician inspects, refurbishes, and repairs small electronic equipment, with a focus on industrial coffee machines, using a variety of hand tools and basic mechanical skills. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and feels comfortable working safely around both water and electricity in a bench assembly environment. Responsibilities • Inspect small electronic equipment, including industrial coffee machines, to identify issues and determine appropriate repair or refurbishment steps., • Disassemble equipment using small hand tools such as drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers while maintaining organization of components and hardware., • Refurbish and repair equipment by replacing or adjusting parts, tightening connections, and performing basic mechanical and electrical fixes as trained., • Reassemble equipment accurately and efficiently, ensuring all components are correctly installed and securely fastened., • Work safely with water and electricity, following provided training and safety procedures to prevent damage to equipment and ensure personal safety., • Perform bench assembly tasks, including assembling, testing, and calibrating units according to established standards and instructions., • Use hand tools and basic test methods to verify proper operation of refurbished equipment before it is returned to use., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workbench and workspace, including proper storage of tools and equipment., • Follow written and verbal instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials to complete tasks accurately and consistently., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work, meet daily production goals, and support continuous improvement in repair and refurbishment processes.Essential Skills, • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn repair and refurbishment procedures for small electronic equipment., • Proficiency using small hand tools, including drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers, in an assembly or repair environment., • Comfort working safely around water and electricity, with a willingness to follow all safety guidelines and training., • Experience or familiarity with bench assembly work, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of equipment., • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures accurately and consistently., • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail when handling small parts and components., • Capability to work independently at a bench while also contributing to a team-oriented environment., • Reliable attendance and the ability to work a set first-shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in assembly, bench work, or small equipment repair is helpful but not required, as training will be provided., • Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and safe handling practices for electrically powered equipment., • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or electrical issues using logical, step-by-step methods., • Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and processes related to refurbishing industrial coffee machines and similar equipment., • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple units and tasks in a bench environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a bench assembly environment with a consistent first-shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will primarily work at a workbench using small hand tools such as drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers to repair and refurbish industrial coffee machines and similar small electronic equipment. The work involves handling both water and electricity, with safety procedures and training in place to guide proper handling and operation. The environment is hands-on and tool-focused, with an emphasis on organization, cleanliness, and safe equipment usage. Dress is practical and appropriate for a technical shop setting, suitable for working with tools, water, and electrical components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
