Job DescriptionJob Title: Carpenter Available to Start Immediately Job Description This full-time, on-site Finish Carpenter role in the Greater Milwaukee Area focuses on residential construction and remodeling projects. You will support the carpentry foreman as a key team member, performing a wide range of rough and finish carpentry tasks from framing to detailed trim work. You will help ensure that each project meets high standards of craftsmanship, quality, and adherence to timelines while contributing to a collaborative, professional jobsite. Responsibilities • Serve as the right-hand person to the carpentry foreman and support daily jobsite operations., • Read and interpret detailed plans and blueprints to execute work accurately., • Assist with layout work, including measuring, marking, and setting up framing and structural elements., • Perform rough framing tasks, including installation of floor joists, roof trusses, and structural components., • Execute finish carpentry tasks such as trim work, cabinetry, and other detailed interior finishes as needed., • Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for a variety of carpentry tasks., • Help manage and train less experienced carpenters on the crew, providing guidance and support to maintain high-quality workmanship., • Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements, clean finishes, and structurally sound work., • Follow project schedules and help ensure adherence to timelines and sequencing of tasks., • Assist with demolition and preparation work for new construction and remodeling projects., • Operate jobsite equipment such as forklifts, boom trucks, and New Holland machinery when qualified., • Work safely at various heights (up to 40 feet) and in physically demanding conditions while following safety procedures., • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve problems and keep projects on track. Essential Skills • At least 6 years of experience as a rough carpenter in residential construction., • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools used in carpentry., • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in rough framing., • Ability to read and follow detailed plans and blueprints., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship., • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Good physical condition and stamina to perform on-site carpentry tasks., • Ability to meet standard lifting requirements of 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds., • Capability to work safely at heights up to 40 feet in a physically demanding environment., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in finish carpentry, including trim work and cabinetry, is a strong plus., • Experience in both new construction and remodeling environments., • Ability to operate jobsite equipment such as a forklift, boom truck, and New Holland is a plus., • Additional training or certifications in carpentry are a plus., • Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures with precision., • Familiar in commercial construction is beneficial but not required., • Familiarity with demolition work and site preparation. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position in the Greater Milwaukee Area with a regular shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work primarily on residential construction and remodeling projects, including new construction, rough framing, and finish work. The environment is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting, carrying materials, and working at heights up to 40 feet. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures, and may operate equipment such as forklifts, boom trucks, and New Holland machinery when qualified. The work is performed on active jobsites where safety, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Allis, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
