Job Description About the Role Ace is looking for a hands-on, experienced Commercial Carpenter Foreman to lead crews on active projects throughout NYC, Westchester County, and Long Island. Our projects include affordable housing, apartment buildings, hotels, high-end residential, retail, and commercial construction. Please Note: This is a working Foreman position. You must be willing and able to put your tool belt on, perform layouts, demonstrate the work, and work alongside the crew when necessary. This is NOT an entry-level supervisory position. We need someone who takes complete ownership of the job—production, quality, manpower, safety, and getting the work completed correctly and on schedule. Responsibilities: • Crew Management: Direct carpentry crews, assign daily manpower, track progress against the schedule, and establish daily/weekly production goals., • Layout & Blueprint Reading: Perform and supervise complete metal stud layout. Read and interpret architectural, structural, reflected ceiling, and MEP drawings. Verify dimensions, elevations, wall types, and field conditions., • Production & Execution: Ensure walls, ceilings, doors, and openings are properly located, square, level, and plumb., • Site Coordination: Coordinate field conditions with supers, project management, and other trades. Work around plumbing, electrical, HVAC, sprinkler, and other MEP installations. Identify conflicts before they impact production., • Quality Control: Inspect work throughout installation—not just at completion. Maintain high standards for framing, blocking, ceilings, doors, and finishes to prevent punch-list items., • Safety & Reporting: Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements. Complete daily reports, manpower counts, progress photos, and field documentation using a smartphone or tablet. Qualifications: • Experience: 7+ years of commercial carpentry/drywall experience preferred, with a strong background in heavy and light gauge metal framing, drywall assemblies, wood framing/blocking, and ACT/acoustical ceilings., • Leadership: Proven experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or equivalent field supervisor running crews on multi-unit residential, hospitality, or other high-volume commercial projects., • Technical Skills: Expert blueprint reading and layout skills., • Certifications: Valid NYC SST Supervisor Card is required for applicable NYC job sites., • Requirements: Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for plans and reporting. Must have reliable transportation for projects outside NYC when required. W-2 Payroll only.
