Job Description Job Summary A Customer Service Agent handles customer inquiries through various channels such as phone, mail, email, fax, text, and chat. They explain Delta Dental's contracts, benefits, policies, and procedures, and process and adjust dental claims. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of working onsite in our Parsippany, NJ office two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday). Essential Qualifications • Be available as scheduled to handle customer calls and/or non-voice inquiries within department KPIs., • Provide excellent service to customers in a professional, polite and friendly manner., • Research and resolve customer inquiries, providing professional and accurate responses in a timely manner., • Handle each inquiry to ensure customers are satisfied on the first attempt and avoid the need for a customer to contact us again., • Document each inquiry and follow up on any pending requests. Claims Processing & Accuracy • Perform tasks based on Delta Dental's claims processing guidelines and agent resources., • Accurately create and process standard claims, claims with coordination of benefits, and pretreatment estimates., • Accurately calculate and process claim adjustments and modifications., • Update subscriber files with information from inquiries and claims., • Meet adherence goals based on set schedules., • Meet quality and productivity standards for voice and non-voice transactions., • Collaboration and problem solving, • Resolve inquiries from other departments., • Refer or escalate claims or eligibility inquiries to Management or other departments when necessary., • Conduct and generate check research requests for outstanding payments and returned checks., • Participate in inventory reduction tasks as needed. Essential Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • 1-3 years of customer service or call center experience; dental assistant experience is a plus., • Proficient in Microsoft applications like Word and Excel, and browser-based applications., • Strong computer skills. Able to work in multiple systems., • Excellent oral and written communication skills and math aptitude., • Creative, flexible, and problem-solving abilities., • Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and in a team environment., • Excellent customer service skills., • Excellent interpersonal skills., • Able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
