    We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and organised Nursery Chef to prepare fresh, nutritious and varied meals for children within our busy nursery setting. The Nursery Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen, preparing healthy meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of young children while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene and safety. Key responsibilities include: • Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children each day., • Catering safely for children with allergies, intolerances, dietary requirements and cultural needs., • Following nursery menus, recipes and portion guidance, while contributing ideas for new and seasonal dishes., • Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety., • Completing all required food safety, temperature, cleaning and allergen records., • Managing food deliveries, stock rotation and appropriate storage of ingredients., • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with food ordering while helping to minimise waste., • Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming kitchen environment., • Working closely with the nursery management and room teams to ensure children's individual dietary needs are understood and consistently met., • Supporting the nursery's commitment to helping children develop a positive and healthy relationship with food. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality food for young children, able to work independently in a busy kitchen and have a strong understanding of food hygiene and allergen management. Previous experience in a nursery, school or similar catering environment would be an advantage. Hours: 0730 - 1630 with a 1 hour lunch break. Monday - Friday

    Training & Qualifications • Initial Assessment: CSCS standard site safety assessment., • 12-Week Training Period: Hands-on training working directly with myself or another experienced technician, covering all aspects of our repair services., • NVQ Qualification: Within 6 months of starting, we aim to support you in achieving your Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Construction) - Damage Repair and Resurfacing. This is the industry-standard qualification for our trade. Position Structure & Pay Rates This position is on a Self-Employed Labour-Only Subcontractor basis. We will fully supply all PPE, branded workwear (shirts, fleeces, and jackets), materials, and operating equipment. Payment is processed weekly on Fridays. For a trainee, the daily rate is structured in three stages: • Starting Rate: £150 per day., • Post-Training (After 12 weeks): Increases to £180 per day., • Post-NVQ Qualification: Increases up to £200 per day. Tax & Vehicle Requirements • CIS Tax: As a subcontractor, we deduct CIS at the standard 20% rate and pay this directly to HMRC. You will be responsible for submitting your own tax return to claim any business expenses and initiate any potential rebates at the end of the tax year., • Vehicle: All subcontractors are required to have their own van and cover their own operating expenses (which are tax-deductible). I appreciate that these starting figures may be slightly lower than your initial expectations, but this structure reflects the significant investment we put into your training and qualification, and it remains highly competitive within our sector.
