You will join an established team of Consultant Neurologists in helping to deliver a General and Subspecialty Neurology service within the North Midlands and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team who provide general and sub specialist patient care at our Neurosciences Centre of Excellence. The Neurology out-patient and in-patient services are supported by a dedicated Neurology Ambulatory Care Unit (NACU) which provides day-case services and we also offer a video telemetry service, supported by our Neurophysiology Department. The successful applicants will be expected to provide expert patient assessment in the diagnosis and management of all neurological conditions in both in-patients and out-patient settings. They will be required to actively engage in and develop Neurology services and to provide clinical leadership to others. A flexible approach will be required to working for our Trust, due to multiple site working. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to skills to provide new ways of working across different professions, organisations i.e. community/primary care. The Trust is one of the largest and busiest acute hospitals in the country, each year we care for over 900,000 people who come to us for emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care. We are a teaching hospital in partnership with Keele University and we have a patient-centered clinical research facility providing state-of-the-art facilities. The University Hospital of North Midlands has two sites - the Royal Stoke University Hospital, located in Stoke-on-Trent, and the County Hospital, located in Stafford. From these sites we provide a full range of acute and none-acute hospital services for approximately 700,000 people living in and around Staffordshire and beyond. The Trust also provides specialised services for three million people in a wider area, including neighbouring counties and North Wales. Flexible working requests will be considered. You will find a detailed description of the role and the job plan in the job pack, which is attached within supporting documents. • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: a. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b. Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) c.
