SEN Tutor - Kettering- GCSE & Functional Skills \n £30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Long & Short-Term Assignments | Home & Community-Based \n Are you passionate about helping young people with Special Educational Needs re-engage with education, catch up with missed learning and work towards their GCSEs or Functional Skills qualifications? \n You will work with learners on a 1:1 basis within home and community settings, helping them identify gaps in their learning and make meaningful progress towards GCSEs, Functional Skills and wider educational goals. \n Assignments can range from short-term interventions to longer-term placements, offering flexibility while allowing you to build strong, positive relationships with your learners. \n The Role \n\n • Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs.\n, • Support learners to catch up with missed GCSE learning and develop Functional Skills.\n, • Focus on key areas such as English and Maths, supporting learners towards recognised qualifications.\n, • Identify gaps in knowledge and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.\n, • Re-engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education, including EBSA.\n, • Build confidence, motivation and positive attitudes towards learning.\n\n Requirements \n\n • Previous experience supporting children or young people is preferred but not essential.\n, • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs is desirable.\n, • Experience supporting learners with EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) would be advantageous.\n, • Strong English and Maths skills, with the ability to support GCSE and/or Functional Skills learning.\n, • Access to your own vehicle and a full UK driving licence is essential due to travel between learners.\n, • A patient, adaptable and compassionate approach.\n, • The ability to build positive relationships with young people who may have lost confidence in education.\n\n What We Offer \n\n • £30 per hour.\n, • Flexible working hours to suit your availability.\n, • Short-term and long-term assignments.\n, • The opportunity to work with learners on a highly personalised basis.\n, • Ongoing support from a specialist SEN recruitment consultant.\n, • The chance to help young people catch up academically, gain qualifications and develop the skills they need for their next steps.\n\n If you're passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and want to see the direct impact of your teaching, this could be an excellent opportunity. \n Academics are acting as the recruitment agency for this position. \n Education and Training - Kettering- SEN Tutor - Education and Training - Kettering- SEN Tutor - Education and Training - Kettering- SEN Tutor \n \n Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
