Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home Location: Bury Salary: £14.20 per hour + £50 per sleep-in Hours: Full-time Role: Senior Residential Support Worker We are currently recruiting for experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to join children’s residential homes across St Helens and Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people and wants to take the next step in their career. The role As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people aged 8–18. You will help create a safe, stable and nurturing environment while supporting young people with their emotional, social and practical development. You will also take a lead role within the home, supporting the wider staff team and helping to ensure care is delivered in line with individual care plans and safeguarding requirements. Key responsibilities • Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people, • Supporting emotional wellbeing and development, • Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner, • Acting as a positive role model, • Supporting staff within the home and providing guidance when required, • Completing accurate records, reports and handovers, • Following safeguarding and child protection procedures, • Working alongside managers and external professionals, • Promoting independence and helping young people develop life skills, • Taking responsibility for the home and young people during shifts when required About you We are looking for candidates who have: • Previous experience working within a children’s residential setting, • Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour, • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people, • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, • The ability to remain calm under pressure, • A professional and resilient approach, • The confidence to take responsibility and lead by example, • A Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People or equivalent is desirable What’s on offer? • £14.20 per hour, • £50 per sleep-in, • Full-time employment, • Opportunity to progress within the organisation, • Ongoing training and development, • Supportive working environment, • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people
