Are you a Qualfied Audit Senior looking for an opportunity with a large reputable firm who offers growth, progression and excellent benefits? \n We are delighted to be partnering with a successful Practice with sites across the North East who, due to continued growth, are seeking a Qualified Audit Senior to join their existing team in either Newcastle or Durham. \n The role: \n\n • Manage and deliver statutory audits from planning through to completion, including leading on-site audit teams where required.\n, • Use digital audit tools and systems to drive efficiency, accuracy, and insight across engagements.\n, • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear communication and supporting them with audit-related queries.\n, • Review work completed by junior team members and offer guidance, coaching and feedback to support their development.\n, • Collaborate closely with managers, senior managers and partners to ensure high-quality audit delivery.\n, • Complete assignments in line with internal quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.\n, • Participate in departmental discussions, contributing ideas to enhance audit processes and team performance.\n, • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through ongoing CPD.\n, • Attend client sites predominantly across the North-East and Yorkshire.\n\n Person Specification: \n Essential \n\n • ACA or ACCA qualified.\n, • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.\n, • Strong experience delivering or leading audits.\n, • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.\n, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident with clients across all formats.\n, • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.\n, • Strong IT capability, including Excel and audit-related software.\n, • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to use initiative.\n, • Ability to travel to client sites as required.\n\n Desirable \n\n • Experience with software such as Sage, QuickBooks Online, and Xero.\n, • Sector experience including charities, academies or legal practices.\n, • Experience with Iris, Caseware or MyWorkPapers\n\n Key Competencies \n\n • Leadership & Team Support – motivates others, delegates effectively and contributes to a positive team culture.\n, • Communication – delivers clear, confident written and verbal communication tailored to the audience.\n, • Technical Expertise – applies strong audit and accounting knowledge, using technology to enhance quality.\n, • Analytical Thinking – evaluates information effectively and develops practical, workable solutions.\n, • Planning & Organisation – prioritises tasks, manages deadlines and delivers assignments efficiently.\n, • Client Focus – maintains strong client relationships, delivers exceptional service and understands client needs.
