Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a long standing client in the County Durham area on a Quality Manager reporting directly to the Operations Director. This role will be responsible for all quality across the business and will work closely with department managers, site leaders, customers, suppliers and external certification bodies to support operational performance, customer satisfaction and the business' journey towards operational excellence. Quality Manager Responsibilities • Own, maintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable ISO standards, customer requirements and internal processes., • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality policies, procedures, standards and supporting documentation, including quality manuals, inspection plans, SOPs and process controls., • Act as the primary contact for certification bodies and lead all external certification, surveillance and re-certification audits., • Develop, manage and monitor the annual internal audit programme across the Integrated Management System, ensuring audits are completed, findings are recorded and actions are progressed., • Prepare, coordinate and facilitate management review meetings, ensuring appropriate inputs are gathered, outputs are recorded and resulting actions are tracked through to completion., • Ensure organisational changes, including Management of Change activity, are reviewed for their potential impact on the IMS and implemented in a controlled and compliant manner., • Develop, monitor and report on strategic quality objectives and key performance indicators, ensuring alignment with wider business strategy and operational priorities., • Monitor and analyse quality performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement., • Lead the Quality team, including inspectors, technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, support and clear expectations to drive a culture of quality excellence., • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, planning, commercial, supply chain and other departments to resolve quality issues, identify root cause and implement robust corrective and preventative actions., • Support the business in achieving Operational Excellence and its drive towards Zero Defects., • Ensure products are manufactured and inspected in line with customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements and internal quality controls., • Oversee calibration and maintenance arrangements for all relevant quality equipment., • Collaborate with customers, suppliers and external auditors as required, ensuring quality concerns are managed professionally and effectively., • Identify process improvements and work cross-functionally to improve quality performance, compliance, efficiency and customer satisfaction., • Monitor and report Quality KPIs to the business, highlighting key risks, trends, actions and improvements., • Ensure a preventative maintenance programme is in place and effective where it relates to quality equipment and controls., • Stay up to date with industry best practice, quality management systems, regulatory requirements and manufacturing/engineering developments that may impact product quality., • Support the NET ZERO improvement programme and wider business improvement initiatives where quality input is required., • Promote and uphold Company performance standards, policies, values and SST behaviours., • Ensure quality risks are escalated appropriately and that actions are followed through in a timely and effective way. Quality Manager Experience • Proven experience working within a Quality function or relevant quality leadership role., • Experience within a fabrication, machining, manufacturing or engineering environment., • Engineering industry experience, including sub-contracting, would be advantageous., • Experience of maintaining or improving ISO-certified management systems., • Experience of leading audits, managing audit findings and driving corrective actions., • Experience of managing, supporting or developing a team
