Instead, you will work within dedicated specialist environments supporting children who require a more bespoke approach to learning, communication and emotional regulation.Many pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require additional support to access education successfully.The Pupils You Will SupportChildren within these provisions may have: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD Communication and Interaction Needs Speech and Language Difficulties SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs) Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Sensory Processing Difficulties Challenging BehaviourMany classes operate with high adult-to-pupil ratios, allowing staff to provide tailored support and interventions throughout the school day.Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be: Supporting pupils on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis Helping pupils develop communication, social and life skills Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies Delivering structured interventions under teacher guidance Working alongside teachers, SENDCOs, therapists and pastoral teams Assisting with sensory activities and personalised learning programmes Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunch and transitions Providing personal care where requiredWho Would Be Suitable?We would love to hear from candidates with backgrounds in: SEN Teaching Assistant Learning Support Assistant Behaviour Mentor Youth Worker Children's Residential Support Worker Care Worker Early Years Practitioner Family Support Worker Sports Coach Support WorkerExperience working with children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable.What You'll Need✅ UK-based experience that can be fully referenced✅ Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs✅ Strong communication and relationship-building skills✅ Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach✅ An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain oneWhy Work With Me?I've specialised in SEND, SEMH and special school recruitment across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Sandwell for over 20 years.
