    We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to join our residential care team. The successful candidate will support residents with their daily needs while promoting dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing. You will work as part of a supportive team to provide safe, person-centred care to adults who may have mental health needs, mild learning disabilities or require rehabilitation and daily living support. Main responsibilities include: • Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care, • Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of equipment, • Supporting residents with meals, drinks and nutrition, • Administering or supporting with medication, where trained and authorised, • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and support plans, • Encouraging residents to maintain independence and participate in activities, • Providing emotional support and companionship, • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes, • Completing accurate daily records and care documentation, • Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment, • Following safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, confidentiality and professional-boundary procedures, • Working closely with colleagues, managers, families and healthcare professionals, • Supporting day, night, weekend and bank-holiday shifts according to the rota and needs of the service The ideal candidate will: • Be kind, patient, respectful and dependable, • Have good communication and teamwork skills, • Be able to follow instructions, policies and care plans, • Be willing to work flexibly, including weekends, nights and bank holidays where required, • Understand the importance of dignity, privacy, equality and safeguarding, • Be able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations, • Have the right to work in the UK, • Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and required training Previous care experience is preferred but not essential, as training and support may be provided to suitable candidates.     this is an Apprenticeship - which means you'd be working as a housekeeper as normal in the hostel but doing some additional studies leading to a qualification? We believe this represents an excellent opportunity to: (1) Work in a Kensington/Chelsea hostel/hotel (2) Gain a highly respected vocational qualification: You must be willing to be considered to be take on as an Apprentice and work and study at the same time. WORK Housekeeping is responsible for ensuring all rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and kept immaculate. It is hard work but very rewarding in that you will improve: • your English/ communication skills, • your team-working skills, • your social skills and confidence, • gain experience in the hospitality environment As time allows and based on your appetite we will also train you up on: -reception to help cover breaks and also potentially to move over if when a position opens up • maintenance so you can help with basic maintenance And get to explore London living on one of the best areas - Kensington and Chelsea. You'll make friends for life in the hostel too. You must be a hard-working, happy to clean and reliable - and have a good eye for detail.] The housekeeping position involves doing a total of 5 shifts per week which can be between 4 and 8 hours per day depending on how busy we are. These are approximate hours and you might more or less depending on how busy the hostel is e.g. more on weekends less on weeekdays generally. STUDY / HOSPITALITY QUALIFICATION You would study towards a Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Level 2. This is a 12 month course which we will pay for and will pay you to do 3 hours study per week – outside of your working hours. Remuneration Package For this role we offer a comprehensive live-in package which allows travellers to parachute easily into London life comprising: • Starting pay will be the minimum wage for an apprentice (currently £8) and will be dependent on your skills and experience., • Free accommodation and free breakfast and food, • monthly bonus for excellence behaviours / going above and beyond, • accommodation in a dormitory (of course you can opt not to live in the hostel);, • use of laundry facilities (to wash and dry your clothes and bed linen);, • free breakfast and free food to cook your own lunch and dinner;, • free fast wifi, • there is also free food available at other times to e.g. cook lunch/snacks. This includes basic foodstuffs such as bread, milk, pasta, rice etc If there's anything else you want ordered that you eat then as long as it’s reasonable and basic we'll buy it. You will improve: • your communication skills, • your team-working skills, • your social skills and confidence, • gain managerial experience in the hospitality environment And you'll get to explore London living on one of the best areas - Kensington and Chelsea. Working Details: • Start date: ASAP., • Work type: Ad-hoc shifts with no guaranteed minimum hours., • Rate: £14.50/hour., • Payment: Weekly, upon receipt of invoice., • As a self-employed subcontractor, you are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance for your self-employed work and personal liability., • Status & Tax: This is a self-employed subcontractor engagement. You will invoice for hours worked and are responsible for your own Income Tax and National Insurance. If services are provided via an intermediary (e.g., a limited company), off-payroll (IR35) rules may apply, and we will follow the required status determination process.
