Site HR Advisor Company: DART Aerospace – F.P.T. Industries Ltd Location: Portsmouth, UK – On-site Department: Human Resources Reports to: Site HR Manager Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About DART Aerospace F.P.T. We are looking for a hands-on HR professional who wants to work close to the business and make a direct impact on employees, managers and site operations. The Role We are looking for a Site HR Advisor to provide comprehensive HR support across our Portsmouth manufacturing site. This is a broad HR Generalist position combining employee relations, recruitment, HR administration, payroll support, HR systems, reporting, training and employee engagement. Working closely with the Site HR Manager and other HR Advisor, you will act as a trusted HR partner to employees and managers, providing practical advice while helping strengthen our HR processes and workplace culture. What You’ll Be Doing Recruitment & Onboarding • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for agency and direct-hire positions., • Coordinate job advertising, candidate sourcing, interviews, offers, and onboarding activities., • Conduct right-to-work checks and support security vetting processes where required., • Prepare employment contracts and associated documentation., • Support new employees through an effective onboarding and induction experience. Employee Relations • Provide timely and practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees., • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and accurate advice or escalating matters where appropriate., • Support performance management and personal development processes., • Facilitate formal HR processes, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, probationary, and flexible working matters., • Identify employee relations trends and escalate complex cases where appropriate., • Liaise with Occupational Health and support the management of long-term absence and wellbeing cases. HR Administration, Systems & Reporting • Manage the HR inbox, ensuring queries are responded to promptly and routed appropriately., • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data., • Support HR and Time & Attendance systems administration., • Ensure employee information is managed in line with GDPR and company policies., • Produce HR metrics and reports covering absence, overtime, headcount, turnover, and other workforce trends., • Use HR data and insights to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Payroll & Reward • Support accurate monthly payroll processing and employee changes., • Manage payroll-related administration, including overtime, absence, and contractual changes., • Support employee reward and recognition initiatives., • Assist with employee engagement activities and site events. Training, Projects & Employee Engagement • Partner with the Site HR Manager to deliver induction and training programmes., • Support HR projects and organisational initiatives., • Assist with employee representative forums and consultation activities., • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and ways of working., • Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and workplace culture. What We’re Looking For Required • CIPD Level 5 Certificate/Diploma, or working towards., • Previous experience in a generalist HR role., • Experience supporting employee relations cases., • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice., • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities., • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word., • Strong organisational and administrative skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to produce accurate and professional HR documentation, reports, and correspondence., • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Strongly Preferred • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or operational environment., • Experience supporting payroll administration and employee data management., • Knowledge of Time & Attendance systems., • Experience supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives., • High attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
