Deputy Manager Childrens Residential Care Job Title: Deputy Manager Childrens Residential Care Location: Oldbury Salary: £16.00£17.50 per hour (160 hours) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: In person About Keystone Keystone is a new childrens residential care organisation focused on providing safe, consistent and nurturing care to young people who have experienced significant challenges. We are opening a newly refurbished childrens residential home in Oldbury and are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join the team. This is an opportunity to be involved from the beginning, helping establish strong standards, develop the staff team and support the day-to-day running of the home. The Role The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides high-quality, child-centred care. The Deputy Manager role will involve working a mix of7:00am10:00pm and 08:30-4:30with the occasional sleep-in shifts when required. The role combines leadership, staff development, safeguarding, care planning and the day-to-day management of the home. The Deputy Manager will also take responsibility for the home in the Registered Managers absence. Key Responsibilities • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home., • Provide leadership and guidance to the residential care team., • Promote consistent, child-centred approaches across the home., • Support staff with challenging situations and behavioural concerns., • Build positive and professional relationships with young people., • Support staff supervision, training and development., • Assist with staff inductions and ongoing development., • Ensure care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and up to date., • Monitor daily records and care documentation., • Support safeguarding procedures and ensure concerns are appropriately managed., • Work with social workers, education providers, health professionals and other agencies., • Attend meetings, reviews and professional discussions where required., • Support the Registered Manager with inspections, audits and compliance., • Help maintain a safe, structured and welcoming home environment., • Take responsibility for the home when the Registered Manager is unavailable., • Promote positive behaviour through clear boundaries, consistency and appropriate support., • Help ensure the home operates in line with company policies and relevant regulations.About the Young People The home will support young people who may have experienced trauma and significant emotional or behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will need to understand the importance of relationship-based care, consistency and positive behaviour support. You will support the team to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour while maintaining clear boundaries and promoting the young persons welfare and development. What We Are Looking For We are looking for an experienced children's residential care professional with strong leadership skills and a practical approach.
