He can keep you on your toes and brings plenty of laughter to those who know him well. He has limited verbal communication but understands far more than he is able to express. He is able to use some Makaton signing, although he can sometimes be reluctant to do so, so the successful candidate will need patience, excellent communication skills and the ability to encourage interaction in a calm, positive and consistent way. Like many people with communication difficulties, he can sometimes become frustrated when he is unable to express his needs, wishes or feelings. On occasions, this frustration may present as behaviours of concern, including physical aggression.
