Careers Coordinator (Work Experience) Hours: Full-Time Contract: Permanent Salary: £30,500 - £35,500 per annum, plus Into Film Benefits Location: Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, Salford or London. We operate in a hybrid pattern, combining home working with attendance at the office. About Into Film Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers, and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching. We also run the annual Into Film Festival which enables more than 400,000 pupils to visit the cinema for free, and the Into Film Awards - the UK’s leading showcase for young filmmaking talent. The core Into Film programme is free for UK state schools, colleges and other youth settings, thanks to support from the BFI, awarding National Lottery good cause funding, and through other key funders including Cinema First and Northern Ireland Screen. Role Summary The main function of the Careers Coordinator (Work Experience) role is to develop, support and deliver Into Film’s Screen Careers Work Experience programmes. Screen Careers covers film, TV, animation, VFX and games. The postholder will work closely with the Careers Lead, Industry Partnerships Lead and other members of Into Film staff who conceive, create and deliver our Screen Careers Programme. The Careers Coordinator will primarily manage work experience programmes across the four nations of the UK (outside of the ScreenWorks programme in Northern Ireland) but will also support the careers team with various other deliverables across the programme including but not limited to events with young people, development of resources and training for careers professionals, supporting development of ‘direct to young people’ content, and exhibiting at careers conferences UK-wide. The role will have a focus on reaching those young people who are underserved and under-represented. Main Responsibilities: • As directed by the Careers Lead, support the implementation of the Screen Careers Work Experience programmes throughout the UK alongside local activation coordinators., • Liaise with industry professionals across the four nations to co-deliver work experience programmes., • Create documentation and resources that can be adapted per location to support work experience programmes., • Manage a budget for work experience programmes., • Support the Careers Lead and Industry Partnerships Lead to manage stakeholders and industry partner relationships utilising Salesforce, our Customer Relationship Management tool., • Monitor and evaluate the programme utilising internal and external feedback to help shape future Screen Careers annual programme plans., • Contribute to quarterly reports to funders and the Into Film board., • Assist the Careers Lead and UK-wide activation team to plan and deliver Screen Careers events., • Support the Learning Content Creation team with the development of Screen Careers resources, training and courses., • With support from the Safeguarding and Child Protection team, manage the safeguarding and consent processes for work experience programmes., • Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film. General Responsibilities: • Commitment to quality internally and in all dealings with Into Film’s stakeholders including teachers, children and young people, industry partners, funders, supporters, parents and carers, and members of the public., • Commitment and active participation in helping Into Film live its EEDI values and ethos through everything it does., • Contribute to long term planning to ensure growth in line with demand and resources., • Contribute to the regular monitoring and evaluation of Into Film’s work. Person Specification: Minimum Requirements: • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the careers education, information, advice and guidance landscape for 11–18-year-olds across the four nations of the UK., • At least one year's experience working on work experience programmes in education settings or the screen industries., • Understanding and experience of what careers professionals and educators need in order to support young people to explore the breath of opportunities in the screen industries, particularly those currently underrepresented in the industry., • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the screen industries across the UK., • Understanding of how AI may impact careers for young people., • Organisational project management skills including a particularly strong eye for attention to detail, strong communication style and the ability to juggle multiple projects., • Strong collaborative skills working across multiple teams and disciplines., • Strong evaluation and reporting skills., • Experience of event management and high-profile engagement., • Knowledge of fundraising and how Into Film’s careers work could feed into successful applications., • Familiarity with Microsoft Office., • A love and knowledge of film. All Into Film staff work in a hybrid pattern, combining home working with attendance at their local and national office when required, along with some travel across the UK, as appropriate to the role.
