Job summaryWe're looking for an enthusiastic HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology team as a Senior Biomedical Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in Haematology who is ready to take on a senior role or further develop their leadership skills.You'll be involved in the day-to-day running of the Haematology laboratory, supporting the team to deliver a safe, accurate and efficient diagnostic service. Alongside specialist laboratory work, you'll help supervise and develop staff, contribute to service improvements, and support the laboratory in maintaining UKAS accreditation and the highest standards of quality and patient care.If you enjoy working in a collaborative team, are committed to delivering an excellent diagnostic service and are passionate about quality and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will support the day-to-day management of the Haematology laboratory, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, safe and efficient diagnostic service. You will undertake and authorise a wide range of routine and specialist Haematology and Coagulation investigations, providing accurate and timely results to support patient care.You will supervise, mentor and develop laboratory staff, promote quality improvement, and contribute to maintaining UKAS accreditation and compliance with ISO 15189 standards. Working closely with Consultant Haematologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play an active role in service development, quality assurance, training and the implementation of best practice.
