Job Title: EHS Lead (Projects) \n Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP) \n Service Area: SHEQ \n Hours of Work: 37 Per week \n Contract Type: Permanent \n Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 \n \n \n \n What you will be doing: \n \n As the Environment, Health & Safety Lead, you will support the business with its construction (CDM) programme, complex project risk management, hard facilities management and operational service delivery. KBS Maritime manages dry docks, high voltage electrical networks, heavy lifting, miles of roads, waterfront jetties and multiple of buildings. This role will have a significant impact on our employees, hundreds of subcontractors and thousands of Naval personnel and site users. \n \n The role will be responsible for providing competent EHS leadership advice, systems knowledge and assurance, enabling KBS Maritime to successfully manage EHS and to achieve the company’s strategic goals. The role will involve the supervision of the EHS team. \n \n\n • Lead the development, maintenance and deployment of a EHS management system\n, • Work as part of a small multidisciplinary team of EHS professionals, and support the EHS in deploying strategy, assurance programmes and cross‑business EHS initiatives.\n, • Lead activities associated with improving EHS practice and performance across the business\n, • Develop and implement innovative EHS change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in EHS risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices, as well as contributing to the cultural and behavioural safety improvements across the entire EHS function.\n\n \n \n What you will bring: \n \n\n • A comprehensive and contemporary technical understanding of environmental, health & safety management standards and practice, including high risk activities.\n, • Strong, proven competence in CDM 2015, with experience advising Client / PD / PC roles.\n, • An experienced EHS professional with a strong understanding of EHS requirements for heavy industrial and construction sites and able to bring their experience to articulate these to ensure effective deployment across the business.\n, • Proven work experience in construction major projects such as decommissioning, demolition, or excavation.\n, • An in-depth understanding of how to influence others to operationalise, integrate and deliver SHE processes, projects and change in a business, through having an in-depth knowledge of the business and sites.\n\n \n \n About you: \n \n\n • One or more of the following; QCF/NQF Level 5 (or higher) EHS qualifications: NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice; Level 6 NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety; Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelors or Higher); or an equivalent qualification in Safety, Health and/or Environmental subject. We will accept candidates able to work towards these qualifications, where experience can be demonstrated instead.\n, • A strong ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels. Due to the nature of the work environment, the job holder is required to have the ability to solve problems in a dynamic way.\n, • Analytical thought to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.
