About the company: \n A leading ICP who after many years as one of the leading specialists in EV charging infrastructure solutions, have recently moved into major electrical infrastructure projects at 33kV and above. This role is to work within the major projects team, which is a new but rapidly growing part of the business. They offer full turnkey solutions, from initial concept through to construction and operations, and this role is an opportunity to be a key part of this. \n \n About the role: \n The Tendering & Design Engineer will have overall responsibility for creating designs for new electrical infrastructure projects within their allocated business unit. They must ensure that all designs meet client requirements, eliminate as much risk as possible (commercial, environmental and safety) and that any remaining risks are clearly communicated to the Project Manager responsible for the delivery of the onsite works. You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams, conduct site assessments and ensure that all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with UK regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering principles, with experience in creating designs for new electrical infrastructure projects. \n \n Package \n\n • Monthly Car Allowance\n, • Hybrid & Flexible Working\n, • 35 days annual leave (inclusive of company shutdown days)\n, • Travel subsistence provided\n, • Discretionary Company Performance Bonus\n, • BUPA Healthcare (after 6 months)\n, • Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme (8% total)\n, • Salary Sacrifice EV Car Scheme & Charger Installation\n, • Salary Sacrifice Holiday Purchase Scheme (up to 5 days)\n, • Enhanced Family Friendly Policies\n, • 4pm finish on Friday's\n, • Bellshill Onsite Gym (free usage)\n, • Additional benefits platform for you to select a wide range of discounted benefits and services\n, • Long Service Awards\n\n \n Key Responsibilities: \n\n • Carry out preliminary site assessments and create initial design concepts in line with client requirements for feasibility and tender stages.\n, • Produce costings from an established master BOQ in collaboration with the estimating team and in line with feasibility designs for client validation and acceptance.\n, • Develop electrical designs for electrical construction projects, including layout, power requirements and safety features.\n, • Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.\n, • Liaise with design partners to attain accompanying construction designs relevant to the specific project; architectural, civil, specialist etc.\n, • Develop detailed construction packs incorporating in-house designs with external partner designs to provide a full construction design pack for delivery.\n, • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and stakeholders.\n, • Ensure that works are designed to minimise risks during the construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning/demolition phases.\n, • Ensure that all designs meet regulatory, statutory, client and industry requirements.\n, • Monitoring project costs through pre-construction phase ensuring adherence to budget and variation management.\n, • Lead effective communication with clients, asset owners, partners and design partners.\n, • Ensure the company is compliant in all aspects of accreditation schemes held.\n, • Eliminate as much risk as possible (commercial, environmental and safety) and that any remaining risks are clearly communicated to the Project Manager responsible for the works via site specific risk register.\n\n \n Key Skills and Experience: \n \n Essential: \n\n • Degree in a Power / Electrical Engineering or similar\n, • Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience in tendering or design disciplines, or both.\n, • Capable of managing clients and leading multi-disciplinary teams\n, • Valid UK Driving Licence\n, • Ability to use AutoCAD\n\n \n Desirable: \n\n • Relevant experience in the UK market within the last 5 years with a DNO, IDNO or ICP.\n
